TEAM Turns 20 This Year

Nancy Johnson's Retrospective

This year, 2024, TEAM Punta Gorda turns 20! We look forward to exciting times ahead as we work together to make the greater Punta Gorda community an even better place to live, work and play. Anniversaries like this are a good time to examine our roots. Where did TEAM come from?

Exciting Plans Unveiled at Community Meeting

TEAM’s January 25 Annual Community Meeting was both entertaining and enlightening. Economic Director Dave Gammon graphically explored Charlotte County’s dramatic growth and plans in the works for the future. Exciting new soft industry will soon surround the Punta Gorda airport. Dramatic mixed use residential/commercial development is coming for the Parkside neighborhood and the Port Charlotte Town Center. Advances in affordable housing are front and center on the radar.

Dave Gammon was preceded by Punta Gorda City Manager Greg Murray who provided a brief overview of developments in the city’s downtown and nearby neighborhoods. Both speakers entertained questions from an attentive and engaged audience. TEAM volunteers were on hand to answer questions about TEAM’s projects as attendees enjoyed wine, cheese, and other light refreshments.

TEAM Builds is Underway

Will you Lend a Hand?

Our first call for volunteers filled almost every available task during the 2024 January - March Habitat for Humanity home build. But we still have a few strategic openings, including a need for stand-by volunteers, including a couple of "lunch runners."
