2019 TEAMS State Rankings
TEAMS state rankings are now posted in the  TEAMS coach account   – log in, scroll to the bottom and click on “View results.” These rankings are available for public viewing on the TEAMS website .

Best in State (Overall Ranking)
The overall ranking is used to determine Best in State. This ranking is determined by the combination of the multiple choice score, design/build and the essay score. Those who rank in the top three of the overall ranking will receive certificates by May 1st. Those who rank#1 in the overall rankings will receive a Best in State banner and medals for their students by May 14th.

Component Rankings and Division Rankings
Rankings are also posted for each of the three components of the competition – multiple choice, design/build, and essay. Division rankings can be viewed by downloading and sorting the results. Divisions are determined by the student population and school admission policy (information the coach provides when registering a team).

National TEAMS Competition Qualifications
Qualified teams are eligible to compete in the national TEAMS competitions. Teams qualify by achieving a minimum combined score at the state level or by placing 1 st , 2 nd  or 3 rd  in the overall state competition .

Minimum combined scores to advance to national TEAMS competitions are:
  • Middle School: 47
  • 9/10: 117
  • 1/12: 141

You can view your team’s score and ranking by logging into your  TEAMS coach account and scrolling to the bottom – click on “View Results.”

National TEAMS Competitions
New to this year, an engineering computations category has been added to the TEAMS awards ceremony. This will award a trophy for the highest math score at each level. (In the past the math score has been combined with the design/build score.)

The national TEAMS competitions are:
  • Digital Media (submitted online no later than May 31st)
  • Research Presentation (first round takes place on Saturday, June 29th, and semifinals take place on Monday, July 1st.)
  • Design/Build & Engineering Computations (takes place on Sunday, June 30th)
  • Best in Nation (determined by the combination of the three scores)

Descriptions and regulations for each competition along with the tentative schedule will be posted on the TEAMS website the week of April 15th.

National TEAMS Competition Hotels 
A block of rooms has been reserved at the following properties: Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, AC Hotel Washington National Harbor, Hampton Inn & Suites, Residence Inn, or Westin National Harbor. TEAMS participants are required to stay for the following four nights – June 28, June 29, June 30, July 1. TEAMS attendees must use the  hotel reservations link when registering.
