TECNA Digest - August 2019

TECNA Board Chair Message
Looking back on an exceptional few days in Madison and the 2019 TECNA Summer Conference. Thank you so much to Tom Still and his team at the Wisconsin Technology Council for going above and beyond in putting on an excellent conference and making us all feel so welcome.
I know for most us, this was the first time in Madison, and I think we all came away impressed with the region, the people and the tech scene. Our conference venue was, well, intergalactic, as Epic describes their global headquarters. An amazing campus and TECNA truly appreciates the incredible support we received from Epic and from the many sponsoring partners for the conference.

As always we welcomed many new faces and new tech councils to the TECNA family, a very positive indicator of our growth as a North American association. We had a chance to say thank you and pay tribute to three outgoing members of our Board of Directors - Jay Larsen, Steve Zylstra, and Tom Hopcroft.  And we welcomed three new Board members - Frannie Matthews, President & CEO, Colorado Technology Association; Deon Gordon, President & CEO, TechBirmingham; and Brian Moyer, President & CEO, Greater Nashville Technology Council.  We celebrated our first ever TECNA Innovation Awards, and you will find in the coming days complete descriptions of all the initiatives behind the nominations posted on our website.

And finally, we were excited to announce that the Pittsburgh Technology Council will host next year's summer conference in Pittsburgh. With its dynamic and growing tech sector, vibrant cultural scene, and the experienced team at PTC, Pittsburgh promises to make for another great TECNA conference!
