TECNA Digest - December 2018

TECNA Board Chair Message
It's December, already, and with it the busy home stretch to year end and the start of 2019. In addition to the calendar of events for the new year, beginning in February with the D.C. Fly-In, we have some other new activities in the works. Last month, we held the first regional policy summit in Atlanta and the feedback from participants was very positive. The follow-up plan will be to organize two sessions in 2019, with likely one each in an eastern and western region. Thank you again to our colleagues at the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), CompTIA and Brooks Raiford at NC Tech for making it such a success.

I am also pleased to share that, in response to a number of expressions of interest, we are adding a new community of interest in the new year, this one with a focus on social media, communications and marketing. Finally, I am particularly pleased that we will be introducing a new TECNA Awards process to recognize outstanding contributions and best practices by our peers across the TECNA family. A committee is being set up to put this in place with a view to celebrating the award winners during the summer conference in Madison. Details regarding both the new community of interest and the TECNA awards will be announced early in the new year.

Meanwhile, on behalf of the Board of Directors,
Executive Director Tim Jemal and Project Coordinator Alina Hardy, I want to wish you all the very best for the coming holiday season.
