TECNA Digest - March 2019

TECNA Board Chair Message
Each year at this time, we put out a call for expressions of interest to serve on the TECNA Board of Directors. This is your association and it is important that our Board reflects the broader interests of the TECNA community, and our bylaws ensure we bring in fresh perspectives and ideas through this annual process. In this current cycle, there will be three vacancies to be filled and confirmed at the summer conference in Madison. As you may have seen from the original notice, nominations may come from any member council in TECNA and should reflect an officially endorsed and approved position of the member council. In other words, for example, if there are two nominees from a single member council, it is expected that the member council will resolve the nominee before one is submitted. Nominees may include CEOs as well as other staff endorsed by their CEO or Executive Director.

The annual process calls for nominations to be reviewed by the Nominating Committee with recommendations brought to the TECNA CEO Retreat, which is coming up at the beginning of April in Kansas City. Serving on the board is an opportunity to shape the future direction of TECNA. We typically meet on a quarterly basis and will also have occasional conference calls and participate in other ongoing discussions of importance to TECNA's operations. So please, if you do have an interest in becoming a member of the TECNA Board of Directors, let us know.

The deadline for nominations is COB Friday, March 15th, 2019.

To submit your nomination, please send your expression of interest with a biography or resume to:

2019 DC Fly-in
Nearly 100 TECNA-affiliated staff and tech companies participated in the CompTIA DC Fly-in in February 2019. It was a fabulous event. TECNA  also organized two related events in DC: our 2nd annual TECNA Reception at the Center Club and we partnered with  Maher & Maher to offer a free Apprenticeship Summit just before the first Fly-in event.
