TECNA Digest - September 2019

TECNA Board Chair Message
When former Finnish Prime Minister Esko Aho addressed the 2016 TECNA CEO Retreat participants and a room full of community leaders and decision makers in Moncton, he spoke of the imperative of staying ahead of the global wave of digitalization that is transforming modern economies. This past June at the True North conference in Waterloo, opening keynote speaker Thomas Friedman reminded us that both moral innovation and government policy have not been keeping pace with technological transformation.  Last year we introduced a new concept intended to contribute to TECNA's role in policy development and related preparation for opportunities such as the DC Fly-In. The first TECNA policy summit was held last November in Atlanta and proved an idea worth repeating.

This November, in conjunction with CompTIA's annual Tech Summit, an event that will focus on a number of critical policy drivers affecting our industry, we will convene the 2nd annual  TECNA Policy Summit in Newport Beach, California. TECNA's Policy Chair, Brooks Raiford, will be reaching out with more details on both the CompTIA program and our policy summit. Sticking with the "Going to California" theme, I am pleased to confirm that the 2020 TECNA CEO Retreat will held at the Las Alcobas   resort in the heart of California's wine country. It is an awesome venue, and I believe sets the stage for another stimulating CEO Retreat.
