TECNA CEO Message
Hello TECNA Community,

I hope you all are doing well and enjoying the start of spring! With the COVID-19 vaccination rollouts across the United States and Canada, I look forward to meeting you all in person soon as we get closer to herd immunity and an end to the pandemic.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to participate in our events survey recently, as we are trying to determine the appetite and ability of the membership for travel and in-person participation at events. Based on data collected, TECNA’s 2021 Summer Conference will be virtual July 21-23, 2021. We will be diligently working with the Summer Conference Planning Committee on speakers and agenda items in the months to come and welcome all interested members to participate in the planning.

Additionally, the DC Fly-In, usually held in the winter months in Washington, D.C., will also be done virtually this year, most likely in Q3. The U.S. Public Policy Committee is meeting regularly and is in the process of developing a public policy agenda for the organization. The committee is chaired by Heather Maxfield, Vice President, Government Affairs & Statewide Economic Development, Technology Association of Georgia. If you are interested in participating on the US Public Policy Committee, please click here.

Likewise, we are also underway assembling a Canadian Public Policy Committee. If you would like to participate in the committee, please sign up here and we will be in touch in the near future with meeting dates.

There is a clear desire to have an in-person CEO Retreat amongst the membership and we are shooting to host this in Q4 of 2021. The date and location are yet to be determined but will be soon – stay tuned for those details!

TECNA’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Community of Interest (COI) is newly chaired by Ruth Morris, Sr. Director, Content Marketing, Mass Technology Leadership Council. This COI met in the fall for the first time and will be meeting on Wednesday, April 14 at 1:30 ET. The DEI COI will be discussing best practices and ways our organizations can be embracing DEI initiatives. To participate in this COI click here to register and to receive notifications on its initiatives, click here.

This is a long letter with a lot of information, but a lot has been happening here at TECNA! I continue to enjoy getting to know you, the membership, and I appreciate your passion for your members. Thank you all for all for your enthusiasm and excitement! Please contact me with suggestions and questions.
