President's Message
TEDC joined forces with the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce, Tennessee Chamber of Commerce Executives and the Tennessee Department of Economic & Community Development for the  2019 Day on the Hill . Business leaders, economic developers and local chamber executives from across Tennessee gathered for one of the largest attended meetings on record. Governor Bill Lee addressed the group of more than 550 attendees and outlined some of his key initiatives for the next year.

Also addressing the crowd was Steven Underwood, President/CEO of the Tennessee Titans. Mr. Underwood shared with us how Nashville was chosen for the NFL draft and how the leadership of the different entities in Nashville and the State came together to make Nashville/Tennessee the best choice to host the draft. This event will have a tremendous economic impact on our state.

In February, the TEDC board held a strategic planning session, which was hosted and led by the UT Center for Industrial Services. The objective of the planning session was to guide the board in updating the mission and goals of TEDC. This is an important process as we strive to continually improve the ways we can be a resource and networking opportunity for economic developers across our state. We will roll out more information from the strategic planning session at our Spring Conference scheduled for April 24-26.
Registration is now underway for the Spring Conference, which will be held for the first time at the new lodge at Gulf State Park, in Gulf Shores, AL. Make sure to register now to secure your room as the block of rooms at the TEDC rate is filling up fast.
