Dogwood Gaming, LLC, based in Silver Spring, Md., is an indie game development studio that has released four games in the last five years. Dogwood also houses an entire development suite which includes the only motion capture studio within 200 miles. Dogwood Gaming is the go-to resource for freelance motion capture animations in Maryland.

Safe Check, based in Potomac, Md., developed the Safe Check Software as a Service (SaaS) platform that provides employees and consumers with a mechanism to easily share their wellness data with their employers, other businesses, and family members.

In an alliance with Maryland’s four Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), TEDCO and Howard County are creating a community of entrepreneurs to support each other and provide a best-in-class entrepreneur leadership development program focused on building critical skills that foster resilience.

TEDCO was well represented at this year's MEDA Annual Conference. It was the first time being back in-person for this conference since Spring 2019.

TEDCO is committed to ensuring its programs and funds are utilized by a broad array of under-represented innovators and entrepreneurs—while also providing an exceptional work environment and enhanced organizational results.

Elizabeth Good Mazhari, who was named TEDCO’s DEI Advisor in December 2021, helped spearhead the new initiatives, working closely and collaborating with TEDCO team members.

When it comes to growing a startup business, there’s a lot to consider. The good news for rural Maryland startups: state and local partners like the TEDCO, economic development offices, and incubators can advise on everything from space to tech solutions.

The University of Maryland seeks a full-time manager for the Chesapeake Bay Seed Capital Fund, which invests in Maryland companies with innovative solutions that can help improve air and water quality in the Chesapeake Bay watershed while supporting the State’s climate change goals.

Exploration Commons at 50 East, located in Westminster, MD, provides the region with a collaborative and experiential learning space that integrates a makerspace, teaching kitchen and learning and meeting spaces. Guided by the input of many members of the Carroll County community and makerspace leaders from around the nation, this space is the future of library services not only in Carroll County, but around the nation. The space allows every person who walks through the doors to not only consume information and access equipment, but to create and contribute to their communities, learn new skills, or begin a new career.

Dr. Tammira Lucas - with the help of TEDCO, EDAC Morgan and Moms as Entrepreneurs - put on this workshop to provide thoughts, ideas and strategies to allow women entrepreneurs to spend more time working on the business versus working in the business. This event took place at the Cube Cowork.
