The latest on innovation and entrepreneurship in Maryland


Each company will receive $50,000 in seed funding from the Abell Foundation and participate in an intensive 13-week startup training program. 
TEDCO Portfolio Company, HBVtech, awarded an MBIA Commercialization Grant

HBVtech, located in Frederick, MD, is a biopharma startup developing a novel chronic Hepatitis B cure drug that only requires a single injection. HBVtech has established proof of three concepts for this new treatment strategy and drug and is preparing for IND (Investigational New Drug) studies. This new drug was selected as one of the Hepatitis B drug cure candidates by NIH.

TEDCO, Maryland’s economic engine for technology companies, announced today the launch of a new video series, TEDCO Venture Talks, featuring entrepreneurs, prominent investors and tech industry leaders from across the State of Maryland and beyond. 

The I-Corps program is FREE and upon completion makes you eligible for a grant up to $5,000. The next cohort will be taught by Bob Storey and will run from January 27 through February 24. Application deadline is January 13, 2022.

The online curriculum is designed to give small businesses like yours the personalized tools to succeed in today's digital world. Learning modules, expert coaching, peer networking and more—it's all here, and it’s all part of the goal to provide resources to help one million small businesses thrive in the digital economy.

Advancement Strategy is a management and technology consulting firm providing impactful solutions to business and IT challenges. Advancement Strategy’s team of industry veterans provides IT and data governance strategy, data engineering and advanced analytics among other services.

As DEI Advisor, Mazhari joins the TEDCO Executive Leadership Team and will be developing and implementing DEI strategy that includes short-term and long-term goals and metrics for the following four areas: Administration, Talent Management, Programs and Funding.
