The GBC’s Bridging the Gap Achievement Awards annually recognizes exceptional minority and women-owned businesses and executives in the Baltimore region and Maryland. The awards also recognizes major corporations and businesses which have initiatives and programs that actively support minority and women-owned businesses to help them be successful.

In their effort to foster a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive Maryland workforce, MTC's Technology Inclusivity Initiative (TI2) will be creating Maryland's first free online directory of tools and technologies that can help organizations develop, implement, and track their DEI strategies. MTC's DEI Tools Directory will feature qualified technologies that have been developed in Maryland, or by companies with a Maryland presence (e.g., business location and/or Maryland-based employees).

The DataTribe Challenge is a unique annual competition that brings together the best entrepreneurs in the world looking to disrupt cybersecurity and data science. DataTribe selects three finalists that split $20,000 in prize money and one winner that could receive up to $2 million in seed capital. The Challenge concludes in an invite-only pitch event where three finalists present to and network with cyber industry luminaries in-person. DataTribe will announce the winner at the end of this event.

A Baltimore medical company that aims to make it easier to diagnose a deadly type of pneumonia raised $3.5 million in an oversubscribed seed round.

The 10-month pilot program will be a combination of virtual and in-person courses held at the Universities at Shady Grove in Rockville, Md., bringing together 25 entrepreneurial leaders in a cohort to develop a network of peer advisors and a community that seeks collaboration.
