We are reawakening TEDxCharlotte on Saturday, April 25 with 13 voices stepping forward to break the silence.


Early in the process, there is…

No stage. No lighting. No applause.


13 people in a room.

At that point, nothing is finished.

It's not yet a lineup. It’s simply potential.


Every person in the room came in with something to say.

Not a talk.

An idea.

And those are not the same thing.


An idea is raw. It is often too big, too unclear, or too personal to stand on its own.

A talk requires structure. Precision. Discipline.

It requires deciding what stays and what gets cut.


It requires saying something in ten minutes that most people have not been able to say in ten years.


That is the work.


What you will experience on April 25 is what happens after that work is done.


Here is what you need to know:

Event Location & Parking


Central Piedmont Community College - Parr Center

1201 Elizabeth Ave


Parking is complimentary (See map below). There will be designated parking areas, along with signage and volunteers to direct you upon arrival.




Event Timing


  • Date: Saturday, April 25
  • 9:00 a.m. - Doors to the Parr Center open.
  • 9:30 a.m. - Doors to the theater open. 
  • 10:00 a.m. - The program begins. 
  • The day concludes with a reception.


Please plan to arrive early and be seated before the program begins. 
Late entry will be held to protect the experience.

Attire


As part of the return of TEDxCharlotte, we are asking the audience to wear black and red.


Black
remembers the silence.

Red refuses it.


Live Recording


This event is being professionally recorded.


By attending, you acknowledge that photography and video recording will take place and may be used in future TEDx and TED distributions.


To protect the integrity of the recording:

  • Entry and re-entry into the theater will be limited while speakers are presenting.
  • Please remain seated and minimize movement during talks.
  • Plan to move during transitions and breaks.
  • If you are bringing children, please ensure they are able to sit for extended periods without disruption.



Audience Guidelines


  • Phones must be on silent
  • Photography is allowed, no flash
  • Video recording is not permitted


TED holds the rights to the content.


We ask that you respect this by not recording video during the event.


Additional Notes


  • There will be natural breaks throughout the program.
  • Food trucks will be on site for lunch.
  • The day concludes with a reception.
  • Theater environments can be cool. Dress comfortably (in black and red).
