Greetings Artisans!
It is an honor & privilege to be writing for y'all… and there's a lot more where this came from, so saddle up, partners, and let's ride!
Domaine Tempier Bandol 2018 ‘La Tourtine’
Domaine Tempier has become the most essential, core winegrower of Kermit Lynch's portfolio since he began importing wines in 1972, aka 50 flippin' years ago!
This organically farmed, extremely rustic Vineyard has an average vine age of around 45 years old & contains vines that are 100+ years in age.
Dark, brooding cherry/blueberry fruit cascades over the palate, complemented by complex nuances of Kalamata Olives (James!), bittersweet chocolate & grilled provencal herbs/garrigue with a subtle hint of smoky campfire.
Plush, luscious texture with well-embedded acidity leads to easy-going tannins and makes this infinitely drinkable right now.
This producer is very near & dear to my heart, as I have collected their wines for most of my 19-year career in wine and have personally purchased more bottles of Tempier than any other winery!
Tasted on 6/15/22 with most of the Artisan Wine Team!
