TESD Offers Free Meal Packages for Students
|
TESD is offering free meal packages to students through June 30, 2021. This program is made possible through the United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) extension of nationwide waivers to continue the Seamless Summer Option. The program offers meals to students during school days when the student is virtual. The intent of the program is to support those in need. Some families in need do not qualify for free and reduced lunch but are still struggling due to reduced income. However, all students are eligible.
Meal packages for students who are participating in the TESD 100% virtual option include 5 lunches and 5 breakfasts. Students who are participating in the hybrid option receive 3 lunches and 3 breakfast. Lunch consists of an entrée (protein and bread), fruit, vegetable, and milk. Breakfast includes an entrée (2 breads or 1 bread & 1 protein), fruit and milk. Meals meet the nutritional standards set by the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program.
Meal packages are to be picked up at Conestoga High School at the bus drop off circle across from the football field every Wednesday. To enter the bus circle, turn onto Old State Road from Cassatt Rd. Pick-up times on Wednesdays are 10:00AM to 12:00PM and 4:00PM to 6:00PM. Please do not leave your car. A staff member will ask for your street address for verification and we will load the meal packages in your trunk.
TESD would like to recognize the dedication of our food service staff who have worked long hours on Wednesdays to ensure no students in our District goes hungry.

Parent-Teacher Conference Scheduling
|
Our fall Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held virtually, with meetings taking place via Microsoft Teams (or by phone if parents prefer). Parents will once again have the opportunity to schedule parent-teacher conferences online. The conference scheduling link, as well as your unique username and password for the scheduling system, can be found on the PowerSchool Parent Portal > Student Information Tab, just below the transportation information. Instructions for accessing the scheduling system can be found here. You will need a PowerSchool account to retrieve your conference scheduling credentials. Please test your login to PowerSchool prior to the scheduling window opening.
Parents who do not have internet access or who are unable to schedule online may contact their school's main office.
Conferences are scheduled for the following dates:
- Monday, November 23 (elementary school students)
- Tuesday, November 24 (elementary and middle school students)
- Monday, November 30 (all students)
In addition to scheduling conferences, PowerSchool's Parent Portal allows parents to view attendance, transportation, and demographic information for their child. While PowerSchool will remain open throughout the school year, online conference scheduling for the November conferences will only be available from November 5 (10:00 AM) through November 12 (11:55 PM). After the scheduling window closes on November 12, please call your school's main office to see if there are available conference times for the teacher that you prefer to meet with or if you would like to make any changes.

Citadel Heart of Learning Award
|
Dear T/E Families,
Each year at this time, I send a message encouraging members of our school community to consider nominating a TESD teacher for the Citadel Heart of Learning Award. As I write this year’s message, I am reminded of the extraordinary dedication our teachers have demonstrated since March as they have modified lessons for virtual and hybrid instruction, learned new platforms and skills, and brought genuine passion and enthusiasm to their classrooms amid the backdrop of the global pandemic. These individuals have continually reinvented their approaches to adapt to conditions, and I am proud to recognize and thank them for their flexibility and perseverance.
Since 2001, Citadel Bank and the Chester County Intermediate Unit have partnered to present the Citadel Heart of Learning Award to outstanding teachers in Chester County. This award program provides an opportunity to recognize teachers who have made a particular impact on their students, schools and communities. Last year, 41 teachers from T/E were nominated for the award.
Our teachers have raised the bar even higher this year and I cannot think of a better time to recognize them for their outstanding commitment and service to the children of Tredyffrin and Easttown. Please consider nominating one of our many deserving teachers for the 2020-2021 Citadel Heart of Learning Award by using the two links below. The first link provides much more detailed information about the awards process. The second link is a nomination form that can be completed online. The deadline for submission is December 31, 2020. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Richard Gusick
Superintendent of Schools
