GRANT FORECAST

U.S. Department of Labor released Round 6 of the Strengthening Community College Training Grants (SCC6) competition — and will fund statewide systems and large consortia of community colleges to promote short-term training programs that will be Workforce Pell eligible. SCC6 represents a unique opportunity to scale industry-focused training programs leading directly to well-paying jobs and careers.

The U.S. Departments of Education and Labor have released the Talent Search funding opportunity, promoting connections between secondary and postsecondary institutions and community-based organizations to serve and provide educational access to disadvantaged students. This year’s solicitation promotes system and statewide approaches and increases individual program funding requests to a cap of $10 million annually.

They have also released the Educational Opportunity Centers (EOC) Program solicitation, providing “information regarding financial and academic assistance available for qualified individuals who want to enter or continue to pursue a program of postsecondary education; provide assistance to those individuals in applying for admission to institutions that offer programs of postsecondary education, and improve the financial and economic literacy of program participants.”

WorkED Consulting was hired by Stark State College to support the Workforce Unifiers project, a U.S. Department of Labor–funded initiative focused on strengthening coordination across workforce partners and improving outcomes for learners and workers. Read more here.

GradUS Project – Project E.A.T. Workforce Initiative 

WorkED was hired by The GradUS Project to support Project E.A.T., a Workforce Opportunity for Rural Communities (WORC) initiative funded by the U.S. Department of Labor. This program focuses on expanding workforce training and career pathways for individuals facing barriers to employment through a trauma-informed approach to workforce development. Read more here.
