THRIVING IN TODAY’s “NEW NORMAL”
What does this mean to me?
Over these past several months, women have been challenged with making choices about how they manage work, family and their relationships during COVID - 19. Now that the boundaries between work, school and home life have blurred in new and unusual ways, it is time to consider ways to preserve healthy boundaries between work life and personal priorities. Join us as we will look at some practical resources to help manage these challenging demands and discuss strategies for how to juggle it all.

OBJECTIVES:
  • Recognize the boundaries between professional and personal priorities
  • Identify coping strategies to manage these new demands
  • Consider 1-2 self care routines to implement now

REMINDER: COVID-19 Grants for Massachusetts Small Businesses
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts has made $50.8 million in grants available to support small businesses, microenterprises, and their employees, families and communities. Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation (MGCC) will be administering these funds to businesses experiencing economic hardship and a loss of income due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Grant funding is intended to help businesses adversely impacted by the pandemic. Preference will be given to small businesses whose owners are women, minorities, veterans, members of other underrepresented groups, who are focused on serving the Gateway Cities of Massachusetts, and those most negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Preference will also be given to applicants that have not been able to receive aid from other federal programs related to COVID-19.

Things we've found out about the grants:
  • Businesses from ALL communities are encouraged to apply.
  • This grant does NOT apply to franchise or chain establishments.
  • Businesses that operate from home (i.e. do not have a physical location, even though it says that on the website), i.e. a recruiting firm that operates remotely, but is registered in Massachusetts with a business certificate can apply.
Statewide Childcare Survey
back_2_school.jpg
Dear Chamber Member,

The Neponset River Regional Chamber is joining in an effort to collect information from employers on their employees’ childcare needs. As many of you know, child care has become a significant issue as workers either return to the office or continue to work remotely.
We are asking you to complete a short survey on these issues that can be found here.

It will take less than 10 minutes to complete and will be completely anonymous.

Business associations from across the Commonwealth will be sending this survey to their members and the total responses will be compiled and aggregated.

The results will help inform the business community, general public, and policymakers about the views, interests, and needs of the community at this critical moment.
Thank you for your consideration and for participating in this survey.
