Parker and Gracie just may have a career in firefighting one day!
WHAT'S BEEN HAPPENING
More pics of the PreK visit with
Chief Clay Walton & Kyle Byrd.
Thanks for giving these students a great explanation of the job of these community heroes!
What a wonderful Game Night we had honoring the grandparents of TG Scott! Thank you for coming to play and hang out with us!
Tie Dye Project: The students have learned about physical/chemical change in science and our character, Cap, from the book, Schooled, in reading. On Tuesday, all 5th grade students were able to combine their knowledge from science and reading to do a fun and colorful project.
TGS students love our friends up the hill and were so excited to have these MCMS students help our during their Volunteer Club time!

PETS OF TGS!!!

4th grade teacher, Ms. Moreno, has several friends in the classroom for her students. One is a leopard spotted gecko named Ursula, and while she did not get her from the grant, she did get four fish along with their aquarium from the Pets in the Classroom grant. Their names are Vadar, Thanos, Doom, and Nebula - "all anti heroes to go with the rest of the pets in the class."
Parents enjoyed attending our first Quarterly Parent Workshop of the year as Mrs. Renfroe explained the ins and outs of our Accelerated Reading program. If you weren't able to attend but are interested in the info, please feel free to view the presentation here. And, watch for details on our next parent workshop scheduled for Wednesday, November 9, at 8:30 am.
LET'S CELEBRATE!
We are so proud of our students, Aaron & Evan Kimbell and Emmalyn Jeremias, who participated in the Monroe County Lamb Show on Monday night. It is impressive to see how these children can control and manage their animals. Congratulations to 4th grader, Emmalyn, for winning first place in Showmanship for K-4th grades!
Thank you! We appreciate our community business partners!

IMPORTANT TO KNOW
TWO MORE DAYS for the earlybird discount!
You spoke, and we heard you! In an effort to alleviate concerns regarding our afternoon car pickup line, we will be making a minor change to our lanes. Starting Tuesday, September 6, PreK and Kindergarten parents will now enter the school’s driveway in the right lane instead of the left. The pickup lane for 3rd-5th grade students will remain the same. Your child will be picked up in the same area in the front of the school. Please be patient as we work to speed up dismissal and ensure students depart safely.
LITERACY NEWS
TGS Student Book Review

Trinity Allen and Kaylee Hadden recommend the series,
The Baby-Sitters Club
by Ann M. Martin.

Kaylee and Trinity love the Baby-Sitter Club books. The characters always have a special story to tell, and things happen in the story that they can learn about and talk about. The characters face challenges in every book and help each other solve problems that come up in their lives. "We love these books and the entire series!"
