SAINT ANNE SCHOOL
WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
Our last week of school was filled with fun activities, a day of cleaning, and a beautiful Mass to thank God for a wonderful school year and to see our Kindergarten students graduate and take their next steps into First Grade.

We pray that all our students, parents, benefactors and friends of our school, will have a joy filled summer! Thank you for a truly wonderful school year.
KINDERGARTEN
GRADUATION
Our Kindergarten students led our final Mass by proclaiming God's Word, reading the Prayers of the Faithful, and sharing their gift of song after Communion. After the Mass Father Antonio presented these graduates with a diploma to recognize their next step into First Grade.

We congratulate these students and their parents who have dedicated much time, energy and treasure so that their children could grow at Saint Anne School.
VISIT OF MRS. DEBORAH MECK-LOUGHRAN
Saint Anne School was blessed with a visit from Mrs. Deborah Meck-Loughran this past week. Mrs. Loughran is the Associate Superintendent for School Development. This is her first year in this position and she is visiting all of the schools.

Mrs. Loughran was most impressed with the spirit of friendliness and hospitality that she found in our students who welcomed her to Saint Anne's School. We thank her for her expertise in development and thank her for her advise in helping our school become stronger and better.
STEP UP DAY
Another tradition that Saint Anne School has is called 'STEP UP DAY'. Every year students have the opportunity of spending some time in their next year's classroom with their new teacher. This helps students feel comfortable on the first day of school when they return from summer vacation.
MERIT FIELD TRIP
TO ADVENTURE CITY
Saint Anne School uses the MERIT SYSTEM for Academic Effort and Behavior. Students each week either earn or lose MERITS in about 30 different categories. Students can use their MERITS for rewards during the year or can save their points for the Merit Field Trip that takes place at the end of the year.
This year Kindergarten through Grade Two went to Adventure City for the day.
MERIT FIELD TRIP
TO KNOTT'S BERRY FARM
Our older students went to Knott's Berry Farm for the day. We thank the many parents who came to chaperone.
FUN DAY AT SCHOOL
Our younger students remain at school on the day before the last day for what we call 'FUN DAY'. Students enjoyed a magician, outside sports, arts and crafts, dressing up in costumes, great snacks and a hot dog lunch, and face painting.
We thank the many parents who came to help during the day!
PARK DAY FOR GRADES 1-8
Mr. Richard Santana, the uncle of Liam and Emma, (on the left), (Mr. Estrada is to your right) organized our Memorial Park Day, complete with the Santa Ana Police escort to and from the park, a coloring booth with the Santa Ana Police, the Orange County Fire Department who demonstrated how a rescue is completed using the extension ladder, a DJ who played our favorite songs that we danced to, and the City of Santa Ana Water Truck which kept everyone going with plenty of cold water.

This was the first year that our students were treated to such great experiences and we are deeply grateful for Mr. Santana's expertise, connections to city services, and his kindness to our our students. Thank you!

Students loved playing on the grass, on the baseball diamond, soccer field, and play equipment. After two hours of free play, students, parents and faculty were treated to a hot dog lunch and a popsicle.
After lunch we enjoyed the traditional WATER BALLOON FIGHT. Grades 1 and 2 battled it out, Grades 3 and 4, Grades 5 , 6 and 7. Even parents and faculty members had fun with the water balloons... After it was finished, the park was completely cleaned up to safeguard the birds and squirrels.
