From the Founder –
THANK YOU!!! What else is there to say? Sometimes, it is just good to show
appreciation for those who have helped you achieve success. For Dorcas Destiny
International, success means being able to feed and clothe children, assist families in crises and emergencies, rescue children from bad circumstances, put shoes on the feet of those who need them, help students stay in school, and provide tangible expressions of love so people know that they are valuable to God!
For this reason, we chose to have our first Dorcas Destiny International Donor
Appreciation Week! from Sunday, March 23 to Saturday, March 29, 2025. Hopefully, you have seen some of our posts stating what we are grateful for, and as mentioned in several of the posts and my video, 10 (or maybe a few more) of you will receive a special gift in the mail. It will be another little something to remember us by, and it is sent to you with love!
As was also mentioned in my live video, you will not be in the drawing if we do not have
your physical mailing address because not every platform gives us your details (Venmo, Cash App, etc.) but if you donate via check, we’ve “got you” and you might get a little surprise!
Regardless, whenever and however you donate, PLEASE KNOW that we greatly
appreciate and love you for your generosity and for trusting us with your hard-earned resources to get the work done and the mission accomplished! We also hope that you will join us on a trip soon so you can see everything up close and personal! In the meantime, know that we are praying for you and look forward to our continued impact due to your partnership!
Love, hugs, and many blessings---DONNA-V

| | Help Rewrite the Story of These Five Children | | |
Bring Hope to These Children
We currently have five children desperately needing our support. Out of respect for the families who have taken them in, and the situations they have come from we will not share any names here. (Reach out to Donna directly to get details.)
One of the families has brought three sibling orphans from Siaya to live with them because there was no one else to turn to.
Two other precious young children have moved in with the family of one of our pastor friends. They come from a heartbreaking situation—their mother battles various addictions, leaving them without care.
These children deserve love, stability, and a chance. Your kindness will allow us to assist these "rescue families" with additional financial means to help provide for these children they have embraced as their own. Every donation will make a difference.
| | Update on the Water Well Project in Siaya | | |
Phase 1 of the Nyagongo Siaya Water Well Project—the geological survey—is complete! Now, we’re moving into Phase 2: Digging the well, bringing us even closer to providing clean, safe water for the community.
This incredible progress wouldn’t be possible without your support, and we need your help to finish the job! Every donation, big or small, makes a difference. You can give via PayPal, Venmo, or CashApp—just be sure to note that your gift is for the Water Well Project.
A HUGE thank you to Steve Cassell Ministries (SCM) and their generous donors for funding over 99% of this life-changing initiative. Their partnership has been instrumental in making this dream a reality!
💙 Join us in this mission—your support brings hope and clean water!

The Role of Dorcas Destiny International in Protecting Children from an Alcoholic Mother
In many communities around the world, children are often the most vulnerable to neglect and abuse. One such case recently came to light where two young children were at risk due to their mother's struggles with alcoholism.
Without proper care or attention, these children were exposed to an unsafe and unstable home environment, vulnerable to neglect and emotional distress. However, thanks to the swift intervention of Dorcas Destiny International, an organization dedicated to safeguarding children, these young lives were given a second chance at a secure future. Alongside this, the organization offered support to the mother, connecting her with counseling and other services to help her overcome her addiction and eventually reunite with her children, if possible.
This case is a powerful reminder of timely intervention, community support, and holistic care when protecting vulnerable children. Dorcas Destiny International’s efforts highlight such organizations' critical role in rescuing children from harmful situations and helping families heal and rebuild their lives.
While the two children were placed in a safe temporary home with a foster family, the work of Dorcas Destiny International didn’t end there. The organization continued to monitor the children’s well-being, ensuring they were provided with education, emotional support, and a nurturing environment that allowed them to heal and grow.
The team is also working with local schools to ensure that the children will receive the support they need in their education and social development. For children coming from such traumatic experiences, the transition back to normal life can be difficult. Therefore, we are providing ongoing counseling and monitoring to make sure both children are adjusting well to their new environment.
Thanks to Dorcas Destiny International, two children are now safe, clean, and beginning to thrive!

Five-year-old Isaac always comes to school as early as 7:30 am. One thing that always makes me notice him, is that once I arrive all the children come to give me hugs as they are always happy for the day’s activity and of course to see me too. Isaac always stands out as he is always wearing his pants that are torn on the knees. Sometimes its normally very cold but this has never
stopped him from smiling and enjoying being around his peers.
One time he got hurt because of his torn pants but he came to me making fun that his pants have doors on the knees and thus cannot protect him when he gets hurt. It broke my heart but I came to realize with these children, such things like dress code are the least of their concerns. As long as they are in school and get to learn that is more than enough for them.
Isaac is very sharp in class and also does so well with memory work and songs. He gives me an easy time and equally helps me teach his peers what they don’t understand from what I have taught.

Several great minds, from Jean Piaget, Lev Vygotsky to Sigmund Freud, presented different ideas that influence our understanding of children’s growth, development and learning.
The central ideas from their work settled on the theme that children adopt different approaches in actively constructing knowledge and exploring their world, including whatever that means to them. The scaffolding theory, in particular, emphasizes on the role of guidance in a child’s development process – cognitive and social.
The education enrichment architects, is what I like to consider a standard scaffolding team. We have been super instrumental in defining our student’s extended ability to learn new information and skills, while posing as the perfect scaffolding team. The children we interact with, present with unique learning needs and surrounding circumstances that require a holistic approach. The temporary support we offer, coupled with the guidance we give during our sessions is proving vital in laying down the tracks towards enabling them achieve their underlying potentials.
Sheryl Akinyi has progressively demonstrated a positive learning trajectory across the different aspects of our program. It brings some sort of satisfaction to witness her transformation into a learner who requires little guidance by the day and is actively embracing independence in her learning curve. It is impossible not be proud of her and her accomplishments, or the resilience she keeps showing, and I cannot wait to see where the journey lands her next.

Blessed is a standout in our Playgroup class—a vibrant, intriguing kid with mind buzzing thoughts. He’s not one to spill everything to just anyone, though; he saves his words for those he trusts, which makes his rare openness all the more special.
One day, while chatting with him, I tossed out a question: “What do you enjoy most about being at school?” His answer caught me off guard—not the usual playground or friends response you’d expect. With a grin, he declared, “I love the food!” And not just any food—rice and beans, that dynamite duo that’s as tasty as it is good for you, packing a nutritional punch for a balanced diet.
His enthusiasm hit me right in my soft spot. Here at Dorcas Destiny International (DDI), we’re not just fueling these kids’ minds with education; we’re filling their bellies too, thanks to our incredible donors.
Knowing Blessed relishes something as simple yet wholesome as rice and
beans proves we’re doing more than teaching lessons—we’re nurturing futures, one delicious bite at a time.

John was initially in PP2 but was moved back to PP1 due to difficulty grasping concepts. At first, he saw this as a punishment and felt discouraged. Seeing his struggle, I stepped in with constant encouragement, reassuring him that this was an opportunity to build a stronger foundation.
Through our guidance and motivation, John slowly embraced the change and set a goal to excel. With renewed determination, he is becoming more engaged, confident, and hardworking. His efforts will soon and quickly pay off since he is fast became one of the best in his class.
His story proves that with the right support and mind-set, setbacks can turn into great successes.
