Where Readers And Authors Come Together and Depart Friends

Book Lover:

I'm guessing we were all weary and exhilarated at the same time (I still am) after two full days of Literary Bliss at the 22nd National Book Club Conference.

Wow.

And thank you. Your energy and kindness and thoughtfulness and love were all felt by me throughout the weekend, elements that made it easy to push through. I had so much fun engaging you all.

In between Shaka Senghor (left), receiving the Terrie M. Williams Inspiration Award on Friday morning to launch the NBCC and former Atlanta mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms (below) receiving the Walter Mosley Author of Distinction Award on Saturday night to end it. . . we were mesmerized by an array of authors of diverse genres who imparted vast knowledge, entertainment and inspiration that left us better for this experience.

There was air of mutual respect and admirmation for each other throughout the Westin Buckhead Atlanta hotel over both days. A family affair.

As promised to Audrey Harrell and a few others, I executed the raffle for complimentary 2027 NBCC registration during my closeout session on Sunday morning. Here are the winners:

- Stephanie Rainey

- Linda C. Mills

- Marcia Knight

- Toni Monroe

- Sonja Nelson

- Anissa Holmes

Congratulations!!! You are all set for next year's NBCC, August 1-3 in Atlanta.

The early-bird 2027 registration discount closes on August 7th, leaving you four days to secure the $100 discount for next year. If we reach our limit before then, we will not extend it. You can lock in your savings by clicking here.

Tons of photos will be available this week--and eventually a video recapping the weekend. Also, I will send out a survey that I hope you will take the four minutes necessary to complete. . . More info coming soon. I'm going to bed.

Peace and blessing.
