In honor of #dspweek and our AMAZING Direct Support Professionals here at Volunteers of America Chesapeake & Carolinas, our staff banded together to bring together these special messages.
Our DSPs are essential to the work that we do to support individuals living with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our DSPs are HARDWORKING and PASSIONATE about providing the love and care those we serve need. Many of those we serve through our intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) services programs in the District of Columbia and Virginia are without families and rely on our DSPs and program leadership to live the happy and fulfilling lives that they deserve.
Without the commitment of our phenomenal DSPs to come into work despite the COVID-19 pandemic, those we serve would be extremely vulnerable during this time. From the bottom of all of our hearts, THANK YOU FOR BEING OUR COVID-19 HEROES.
