THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR A GREAT INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION!

A very large crowd attended St. Germain’s Independence Day Celebration on Sunday, July 3rd to participate in a full day of Patriotic Fun festivities.

The day started with a Freedom 5K run through the wooded trails of the Awassa property and ending at the community park while a craft show was getting underway. Free family events were spread throughout park including horse drawn wagon rides, casting lessons, Whimsey in the Woods chain carving demonstrations, St Germain and Plum Lake Fire Departments equipment displays and public interaction, DNR K9 officer, Vilas County K9 demonstrations, Waaswaaganing Indian Bowl performers, Smokey Bear, DNW fire staff, Krafts Kuddly Kritters petting zoo, Trees For Tomorrow and Loon Watch educational information, music by the Old Pine Road Band and Tom Mijal and Polka Access, a flyover to begin the parade and, finally, fireworks at dusk.

The parade route was packed with thousands of spectators. The "Crowd Pleaser Award" went to Lakeside Lutheran High School Warrior Marching Band from Lake Mills, with Judges’ Choice going to Chamberlain’s Eagle View Resort.
