The importance of human connection cannot be overemphasized. This is especially true of the family. This is why our Family Weekend is vital to the success of our church. The excitement and anticipation are high, and we are believing God for much fruit from our labor.
The old saying, “Blood is thicker than water,” stresses the power of family relationships. This not only applies to the biological family but also to the family of God. When we worship and fellowship together, the family grows stronger, eventually developing into an unbreakable union.
The advent of our Small Group ministry is also part of a spiritual connection. The reports of our first week are encouraging and we are expecting growth. Faith Development is available for those who are not involved in one of these groups. Our pastor wants to establish learning environments where every member will feel comfortable. This will establish strong spiritual roots.
Soon, the season will change, and summer will give way to fall, but our mission remains steadfast. Summertime can often cause “lazy” ministry, but we need to remind ourselves of our assigned mission. Invite and encourage unchurched and homeless Christians to join you in worship. But remember to lead by example. Showing people you love Jesus speaks louder than just telling them. Let’s get to work in God’s Vineyard!
