1 Timothy 6:12 (NKJV) Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
The Greek verb translated as “fight” in 1 Timothy has the same meaning as the word “strive.” The word has several applications. In the New Testament, the word is also rendered as to struggle, to compete for a prize, to contend with an adversary, to endeavor or accomplish something, fight, and labor fervently.
The basic idea of striving is to make great efforts to achieve or obtain something. Thus, our church's theme for 2025 will be “Continue To Strive In 2025.” To accomplish our goal this year, ministry leaders must work in perfect harmony, striving to achieve a common objective.
Church ministers should never be self-serving. Events planned that do not serve the church and community are counterproductive. The goal of any church event should be to reach the lost, uplift the hurting, and build up the church.
Supporting all the ministries of the church promotes unity and bonding. Leaders must remember that the Kingdom of God is not comprised of isolated ministries. When one ministry succeeds, the entire church wins.
