Taking Chamber Connections Beyond Houston

The Chamber isn’t just creating opportunities inside Houston. We’re taking members directly to the places where business is happening.

This week, the Chamber’s Industrial Committee traveled through San Antonio and Austin for a two-day Central Texas delegation focused on manufacturing, investment and stronger economic ties with Asia.

The trip included a visit to the Toyota Manufacturing Facility, participation in the 2026 Central Texas-Korea Summit, and meeting with the International Division of the San Antonio Economic Development Department, connecting business, government and economic development leaders.

These trips give members something you can’t always get from behind a desk: firsthand access to markets, decision-makers and new possibilities.



And the next opportunity is already here.

Next Stop: DFW + Taiwan Expo USA

From Central Texas, we’re heading north.

The Chamber’s Dallas-Fort Worth Trade Mission, September 23–25, will connect participants with economic development leaders, site visits and Taiwan Expo USA.

Delegates will meet with the McKinney and Fort Worth Economic Development Corporations, explore regional investment opportunities and connect with Taiwanese companies and government representatives.

Ting Geng Helps Reimagine a Houston Favorite

Congratulations to Board Member Ting Geng and Tinggi Design on the transformation of Lucky Village, a restaurant that has served Houston’s southwest community for more than 20 years.

Tinggi Design reimagined the nearly 13,000-square-foot space, creating a contemporary new environment while preserving the warmth that has made Lucky Village a longtime community gathering place.

The project is another example of Asian business leaders helping shape the places where Houstonians live, gather and do business.

Congratulations, Anthony Nguyen!

Another Chamber member is celebrating a major milestone.

Anthony Nguyen recently opened Cajun Krunch, carrying forward a family restaurant tradition that began with his father in Shreveport, Louisiana.

The Chamber joined Anthony, his family and customers for a ribbon cutting complete with Dragon Dancers—and there’s another Chamber connection behind the story.

Board Member Sam Chang served as Anthony’s realtor, helping him find the location for his new venture.

That’s what a strong business network looks like: members connecting, supporting one another and helping businesses move forward.

Redefining Americana:

Agnes & Sherman Tells an Asian American Story Through Food

As America approaches its 250th anniversary, we’re celebrating the Asian and Asian American people and businesses helping shape what it means to be American.

Houston’s Agnes & Sherman is doing that one plate at a time.

Created by Chef Nick Wong, the modern Asian American diner blends two distinctly American traditions—the classic diner and Asian American cuisine—into food that is nostalgic, playful and unexpected.

The concept also challenges an outdated idea that Asian American food somehow sits outside “American” cuisine. Instead, Agnes & Sherman reflects what America has always been: a culture continually shaped by generations of people bringing their traditions, experiences and creativity to the table.

And people are noticing.

Agnes & Sherman was named Texas Monthly’s 2025 Restaurant of the Year, earned MICHELIN Recommended recognition and was selected as one of Bon Appétit’s Best New Restaurants of 2026.

Its success is about more than accolades. It demonstrates that the Asian American story isn’t separate from the American story.

It is the American story.



And at 250 years, that story is still being written—in Houston, sometimes one plate at a time.
