In July, our small-but-mighty delegation traveled to Beijing for the China International Supply Chain Expo and a series of meetings with government and business leaders. We’re proud to announce the return of our 9th Annual Business Executive Program, an intensive 8-week fast track business program designed to equip aspiring professionals with the tools and knowledge needed to succeed in today’s competitive marketplace. This one-of-a-kind learning opportunity offers participants a deep dive into core business functions, delivered in both English and Mandarin, making high-level business education accessible to a wide and diverse audience.
Program Overview
Over the course of eight weeks, participants will gain hands-on experience and practical insights into the world of business. Classes are held every Saturday, providing a collaborative environment where peers can engage in meaningful dialogue and strengthen their skills.
Program Details
- Duration: 8 weeks (Saturdays, September 27 – November 11, 2025)
- Fee: $1,288 per person (includes a one-year ACC Bronze Membership)
- Languages Offered: English and Mandarin
- Application Process: Applications are reviewed upon receipt; admission is not guaranteed. Payment is required only after acceptance.

ACC Staff Join National ACE
Small Business Roundtable
in Dallas

The Asian Chamber of Commerce Houston staff recently attended the National Asian/Pacific Islander American Chamber of Commerce and Entrepreneurship (National ACE) Small Business Roundtable at the AT&T Discovery Center in Dallas. The event, presented in partnership with AT&T and the U.S. China Chamber of Commerce Dallas, brought together small business owners, policymakers, and community leaders to exchange ideas, share resources, and explore strategies to drive growth.
“Dallas continues to be a driving force for innovation and entrepreneurship,” said Jimmy Ferguson, Policy Committee Chairman of National ACE. “This roundtable highlights the importance of elevating local voices, building public-private connections, and sharing resources to address the challenges facing small business owners.”
Key discussion topics included workforce and talent needs, artificial intelligence, access to capital, supply chain uncertainties, and tariffs. Notable attendees included Congressman Marc Veasey, Carrollton Councilmember Rowena Watters, and Plano Mayor Pro Tem Maria Tu, alongside representatives from various government and business organizations.
During the event, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between National ACE, the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of Texas, and the U.S. India Chamber of Commerce Dallas-Fort Worth—marking a significant step toward deeper collaboration across Texas’ diverse business communities.
National ACE President & CEO Chiling Tong emphasized the organization’s dedication to supporting entrepreneurs through programs, partnerships, and advocacy efforts designed to help small business owners access funding, strengthen networks, and thrive in today’s economy.

The Asian Chamber of Commerce is excited to welcome June Xu, founder of the Asian American Art & Culture Initiative (AAACI), to our growing community of business leaders and changemakers.
About AAACI
Founded just two years ago, AAACI is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to amplifying the Asian American voice through contemporary art, history research, and educational workshops. The organization is already making an impact with multiple ongoing projects and exhibitions that bring Asian American stories to life in meaningful and creative ways.
AAACI’s flagship project, Roots Unveiled, recently debuted in Austin and will remain on display until August 31, 2025. Looking ahead, Houstonians can anticipate two major exhibitions in 2025:
- Houston A La Casa – A multicultural contemporary art exhibition at City Hall
- Besides Math – An exhibition exploring younger generations’ concerns through art, hosted at the Houston Central Library
In addition, Roots Unveiled will make its way to Houston in January 2027.
Why Art Matters
June Xu’s motivation for founding AAACI comes from a deeply personal and cultural mission: to change the narrative around Asian Americans by using art as a powerful tool for advocacy and expression. While art has often been overlooked in Asian American communities, AAACI is determined to ensure that voices are not only heard but celebrated.

Asia-Texas Delegation to Beijing

From July 13–29, 2025, representatives from the Asian Chamber of Commerce joined business leaders and partners on an international trade mission to China. The two-week trip, which centered around the 3rd Annual China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) in Beijing, provided valuable opportunities to strengthen global connections, promote Houston-area businesses, and explore new avenues for collaboration.
Building Global Business Connections
The mission was led by a small but powerful delegation including Fan Chen (MOSAIC Paradigm Law Group), Adam Jiang, Yong Liang (Eazy), Melvin White (MRSW Management), and Wendy Zhao (Aurora). Together, they engaged in meetings with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) across multiple cities, a counterpart organization that functions much like U.S. economic development corporations.
The trip opened with a welcome dinner at the China World Trade Hotel in Beijing, attended by influential leaders such as Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, who also delivered the keynote at CISCE’s Opening Ceremony.
Showcasing Houston at CISCE
From July 16–19, the delegation participated in CISCE, one of China’s premier events focused on global supply chains and innovation. The ACC booth drew strong traction throughout the week, positioning Houston-area businesses in front of international buyers and partners. Delegates also took part in cultural tours, including the Bird’s Nest Stadium, the Great Wall of China, and the Summer Palace, offering a deeper understanding of China’s history and global influence.
City-to-City Engagement
Beyond Beijing, the mission included stops in Tianjin, Suzhou, Changzhou, Shanghai, and Shenzhen:
- Tianjin (July 20–21): Delegates toured the historic Astor Hotel, visited Cosychem Pharmaceuticals, and held meetings with CCPIT leaders. The visit concluded with a riverfront night cruise.
- Suzhou (July 22): The team explored Suzhou’s famous gardens and strengthened ties with local business leaders.
- Changzhou (July 23–24): Engagements included a tour of QC Solar, which has a Houston office, meetings with Hengli Group (a key global supplier for Mitsubishi), Wanshi Aviation Group, and CCPIT Changzhou.
- Shanghai (July 25–26): Delegates met with the American Chamber of Commerce Shanghai, toured the historic Wukang Building area, and experienced cultural landmarks such as Jing An Temple and The Bund.
- Shenzhen (July 27): The mission wrapped with meetings at CCPIT Shenzhen and a tour of Shenzhen Talent Park, with sweeping views of Hong Kong’s mountains.
Strengthening Houston’s Role in the Global Economy
Through this trade mission, the ACC delegation built bridges with international partners, showcased Houston’s entrepreneurial spirit, and positioned member businesses at the center of global trade discussions. The mission highlighted opportunities for collaboration across industries, from solar and aviation to pharmaceuticals and heavy equipment manufacturing.
As global supply chains continue to evolve, ACC remains committed to ensuring that Houston-area businesses are represented, connected, and positioned for long-term success in international markets.

The Asian Chamber Foundation proudly hosted its annual Business Conference, and this year proved to be one of the most impactful yet. Nearly 100 attendees gathered for a day filled with learning, inspiration, and connections, underscoring the Chamber’s ongoing commitment to strengthening Houston’s small business community.
Opening Highlights
The day began with valuable insights from Mark Winchester (U.S. Small Business Administration) and Kim Way (Small Business Development Center), who shared critical resources available to help small businesses thrive in today’s competitive marketplace. Their expertise set the tone for a day centered on growth and empowerment.
Expert Sessions
Attendees then had the opportunity to learn from leading experts across multiple industries:

Adam Laughton (Greenberg Traurig) shared strategies for securing the best terms in dealmaking and negotiations.

Preston Peine & Shaju Sachin (Microsoft) provided a dynamic session on AI and Prompt Engineering for Business Users, including a closer look at Microsoft’s CoPilot technology.

Austin Zhao (Transworld Business Advisors) unpacked strategies for understanding valuation and maximizing the value of your business.

Xin Wang (Abacus Financial Strategies LLC) closed the day with guidance on planning for business owners, highlighting the role of trusted advisors, strategies, and key employees in long-term success.
Civic Engagement Session
Following the conference, members participated in a Civic Engagement session led by Sharon Jones, Director of Civic Business Engagement & Texas Lead and Senior Advisor to the Texas Business Leader Alliance. Sharon shared findings from the Texas Business Leaders Civic Engagement Survey, reminding participants that:
- 91% of leaders agree that a strong democracy is vital to a strong economy
- 97% believe businesses should be actively engaged in public policy
- Top concerns include misinformation, political violence, and infrastructure needs like education, safety, and strong institutions
She encouraged business leaders to view civic engagement as a business strategy—one that builds trust, attracts talent, and strengthens resilience.

The conference was more than just a series of presentations—it was a celebration of collaboration, innovation, and empowerment. Attendees walked away with actionable strategies to grow their businesses, deepen their community impact, and shape a thriving future for Houston’s business ecosystem.
