Dear Daves Avenue Families,
Don’t forget to VOTE on Measure B by Tuesday! Please have a plan to vote!
Measure B ensures stable funding for our schools and supports 23 teachers.
It is important your voice be heard.
If you have not yet voted on Measure B, here are the easy steps to submit your ballot right away:
- Find your ballot
- Mark your ballot (be sure to sign the back of the envelope)
- Drop it in the mail by November 2
If you are missing your ballot: you can vote in person at the Blossom Hill Elementary MPR or The Pavilion at Redwood Estates (both voting centers are open 9am-5pm through Nov. 1 and 7am-8pm on Nov. 2).

Daves Avenue Halloween Parade:
We are excited to continue our traditional Halloween parade this Friday, October 29, from 8:45-9:15 A.M.
- After morning drop-off on Friday, the Daves Avenue and Poppy parking lots will be closed as the parking lots will be used for parents to stand and watch the parade. Please refer to the diagram below which will reference where grade level parents should stand for parade viewing. Parents should remain behind cones or the median fence to observe, cheer, and snap photos.
- The parade will begin at 8:45 A.M. and the 4th and 5th graders have a special performance for our community after students in Grades TK-3 are seated in front of Daves Avenue main gate!
Costume Reminders:
- Please remember that costumes should be age appropriate and culturally sensitive. This will help to avoid inadvertently mimicking any individual or group of people.
- Avoid scary costumes that could frighten young children. No weapons, blood, or masks. If a costume is found to be inappropriate, your child will be asked to change out of their costume.
- Hair Dye and/or spray should be administered at home and not brought to school.
- Unattached parts of costumes can get lost easily at school, so you may want to leave them at home.
- Our goal is to promote Halloween in a fun, safe, and respectful manner. Your support is appreciated!

The 2021 FUN RUN was a SUCCESS:
Thank you to all students, staff, and parent volunteers for helping to make today a special and memorable experience for all! To the Fun Run Committee Co-Chairs, Alexis Barnickel and Elise Mazzoni, and the dozens of committee members and room parents who spent countless hours in planning and beautifully executing today’s event, thank you! The smiles on the faces of our Cool Cats were absolutely priceless. If you haven’t received pictures from today’s event yet, your child’s teacher will be sharing them soon!
Tomorrow is picture day, Friday is the Halloween Parade, and Fall Conferences and minimum days will take place next week, November 1-5. We got this!
Wishing you a PAWSitively wonderful week!
Kind regards,
