PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Dearest Daves Avenue Families,

I hope this message finds you and your loved ones healthy and well.

Thank you for completing the Reopening Schools Parent Intention form. We are using this data to plan and prepare schedules, formulate supply orders, and design classroom furniture configurations. The Cool Cat Staff are PAWSitively amazing!

To best serve our students’ food service needs, I request that you complete this Parent Child Nutrition Survey. We would like to provide complimentary grab-and-go breakfasts and lunches for interested families of both Roomers and Zoomers when school resumes.

With regards to the timeline for implementing the Roomers & Zoomers model, the LGUSD Board of Trustees will meet on January 7th to evaluate the health conditions in Los Gatos and Santa Clara County. At that time, our Board will make a “Go” or “No Go” decision to put the plan into action. District administrators will also continue to closely monitor conditions and consult with the Santa Clara County Public Health Department.

Finally, I look forward to all students participating in our “Cool Cats Shine Bright” activity in addition to the Student Council led community projects “Letters of Kindness” and “Daves One Warm Coat Drive”. Do you have a gently used coat at home that you don’t wear anymore? If so, please consider donating it to help us reach our school goal of helping 200 people keep warm with 200 coats. Please see "Cool Cat Community" section below for all details.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call or email me.

In safety & education together,
Principal

ON CAMPUS SUPPORT NEEDED
Support Staff Positions

We are working towards opening for in-person instruction. In order to support our schools and staff members, we are hiring additional staff to act as in-class aides to facilitate the “Rooming and Zooming” model, and to provide on-campus support. While we know many would be happy to volunteer their support, to ensure adequate training and provide consistency, we will hire the assistants. These positions will begin when in-person instruction classes begin. The details and how to apply are listed in the job posting.
