Tis’ the season to reflect on all that we are grateful for. As 2020 comes to a close, I look forward to a new year where we can continue to partner together to support all students. Thank you to all families who attended the picture makeup day on campus last week. By now, you should have received a special access code for your child’s pictures. If you did not receive the link, please email Ms. Cara at cortiz@lgusd.org. We want to make sure that you have your special access code for Generations School Photography just in case you would like to send pictures to any extended family members during this unique holiday break.
If you were unable to attend either of the picture days, please look for information in January 2021 for an in-studio date where you can schedule a time to have your child’s picture taken. Thank you!

CHROMEBOOK TIPS AND TRICKS
Tim Landeck, Director of Technology for the district, has put together some Chromebook Maintenance and Troubleshooting Tips and Tricks for families.
We are working towards opening for in-person instruction. In order to support our schools and staff members, we are hiring additional staff to act as in-class aides to facilitate the “Rooming and Zooming” model, and to provide on-campus support. While we know many would be happy to volunteer their support, to ensure adequate training and provide consistency, we will hire the assistants. These positions will begin when in-person instruction classes begin. The details and how to apply are listed in the job posting.
LGUSD is inviting the community to join in the conversation about equity, inclusion and race led by our Equity Action Team and Epoch Education. We are reading The New Jim Crow by Michelle Alexander. Pick up a copy of the book and get reading. We look forward to learning together.
