Dear Families,
Together, we have successfully reopened school for TK-2 students! Next week, we look forward to welcoming back students in grades 3-5 as well. Providing families choice as we continue to navigate this pandemic together remains our priority. After closing our school doors for in-person instruction last March, the following REOPENING information is evidence of our collective commitment to support ALL students. Thank you to students, parents, and teachers for your continued dedication. All 3-5 parents will receive correspondence from your child’s teacher by 3:00 P.M. tomorrow, February 4th, which will include important information about school reopening. Please read their message carefully.

To support families during these transitional times, two Principal Chat/Home & School Club meetings have been scheduled. Please mark your calendars for February 25 @ 2:00 P.M and April 1 @ 3:30 P.M. In the meantime, continue to wear a mask, practice social distancing, wash your hands, and abide by our County’s travel restrictions. Together, we can continue to keep our community safe while keeping our school OPEN!

MESSAGE FROM H&SC PRESIDENT
|
|
Dear Daves Teachers & Staff,
On behalf of the Home & School Club and our community, we want to let you know how proud we are of our school and district. Your leadership, commitment to do what's hard and uncomfortable, and redefine yet again how to adapt in this pandemic gives us hope. I have already heard so many stories of happy kids and their excitement to be back with YOU. Thank you for putting together a plan that meets the needs for all families whether they are a Roomer or Zoomer. This has been a long, stressful, and constantly changing road. Thank you for pushing forward.
It took the effort of everyone across our district to make our reopening possible, but I want to highlight a few names:
-
Superintendent Johnson and his entire staff for listening, developing a plan, believing, and not giving up.
-
Jenna and the entire staff at Daves for the non-stop work, positivity, partnership, and commitment to all of us.
-
Pilot program teachers who volunteered to help us test options, refine, problem solve, and help train colleagues.
-
Meghan Weisler, Jason McCullough, & Megan Mahoney for your leadership on the Los Gatos Elementary Teachers Association. Your support and positivity made a huge difference.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! May we all have pride knowing that LGUSD brings hope and an example plan to other districts. We are leading the pack!
Sincerely,
Becky Tanner
