Dear Cool Cat Families,
Thank you to all families who participated in our Back to School Night last week. It was a huge success and we are grateful to all families for your partnership to make this school year a huge success!
DROP OFF & PICK-UP UPDATES!
In a continued effort to support safety on our campus during drop-off and pick-up, we will be updating gate arrival and dismissal for 3rd Graders.
TK/K - Kindergarten Gates
1, 2, 3 - Front Gates (Daves Avenue/Flagpole)
4 & 5 - Side Gates (Poppy Lane/Bike Racks)
We are hoping this change will alleviate a bit of the traffic on and around campus. Long-term solutions and ideas are welcome as we continue to work with Safe Routes to School and the city of Monte Sereno.
In the meantime, you can be a COOL CAT by remembering:
- Driving in? Wonderful!
- If you are coming from Daves Avenue, make that left turn ONLY into the left lane to pick up on Daves Avenue drive-through.
- If you are coming down Poppy Lane, turn right ONLY into the Poppy drive-through.
- In either drive-thru, please proceed to the end of the drive-thru line and have your child exit your vehicle curbside.
- If your child is unable to exit a vehicle independently, please consider parking your car instead to assist in drop-off and pick-up.
- Walking in? Awesome!
- Please wait away from gate areas to minimize crowding and help with foot traffic flow. Designate a spot that your child knows to go to meet you!
- Trees and grass areas are meant for comfort. Please discourage children from running around traffic areas or climbing trees.
- Please follow all crosswalk areas and watch for direction from yard duty and crosswalk personnel.
- Biking or scootering in? Terrific!
- Please walk all vehicles on campus until you are on the street.
- Exit campus through the nearest crosswalk.
Additional reminders this week:
- Every Wednesday is a minimum day! This means that TK-2 students are dismissed at 12:10 P.M. and 3-5 students are dismissed at 12:15 P.M. Please plan accordingly.
- Daves Avenue Facilities Improvement Meeting- All Staff and Community Members are welcome to attend an in-person meeting in the MPR with Verde Design Group on Tuesday, August 31, 2021. Renderings of potential upgrades and campus changes will be shared and input is welcomed.
- Picture Day is scheduled for October 28th. More information will be coming soon!
