PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Families,

Thank you for participating in our virtual Back-to-School night last week. If you were unable to join, please reach out to your child’s teacher as the presentations and/or video recordings can easily be shared. On behalf of the Daves Avenue Staff, we are so proud of our students and their tremendous effort during the first ten days of instruction. Also, kudos to all parents and guardians for being so supportive and flexible while students adjust to their new grade level routines and schedules! In order to perpetuate this positive momentum, please review the attached Zoom norms with your child. Here are two formats which state similar expectations for all Cool Cats:
The Daves Avenue staff is grateful for your patience and partnership as we strive to provide quality instruction to all students in virtual classrooms. Covid-19, lighting complex fires, power outages, poor air quality, and Zoom connectivity are just a few examples of the challenges we have endured together in 2020. Despite all, I am in awe how our community continues to spread kindness and help one another. If your family is experiencing any hardships during this difficult time, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or your child’s teacher.
Kind regards,
Principal, Daves Avenue Elementary School
A MESSAGE OF SUPPORT
Across the LGUSD, there have been almost 30 teachers displaced due to local wildfires. The Daves Avenue community offers our love and support to all teachers and staff facing this hardship in these very difficult times.
Thank you! ❤️

PARENT HELP NEEDED!
Despite lots of changes to our school events this year, we still need parent involvement and have some open positions remaining. Please take a look and see if any of these roles interest you and let me know so I can provide further information:

Science Fair Co-Chair (will be virtual & easier to coordinate)
Staff Appreciation Chair
Yearbook Co-Chair

Additionally, we are looking for an amazing person to fill the 'President Elect' position on the H&SC Board as soon as possible!

Please do let me know if you would be interested and would like to know more information about this position - we need all the support we can get from our community.

ONE COMMUNITY CAMPAIGN
Together we are stronger.

This year LGEF, Music Boosters, and our five Home & School Clubs (Blossom Hill, Daves Avenue, Lexington, Van Meter and Fisher) have joined together to consolidate back-to-school fundraising into a single campaign.

Your contribution still goes to the same place it always has - directly to your school to fund vital programs and essential staff. We have simply streamlined the process to make it easier for you to donate once.

Our goal is 100% participation by all families - more than ever your school needs your support.

Please visit www.onecommunitylg.org to learn more and to make a contribution today.
