Dear Cool Cat Families,
October has been full of learning opportunities, allowing our students to grow academically and socially. Our most senior Cool Cats had an amazing week at Science Camp as they enjoyed banana slugs, campfire songs, and six hour hikes! Today’s Fun Run was a huge success and Halloween is around the corner. As a friendly reminder, please remember the following guidelines:
- Encourage school and age appropriate costumes.
- Avoid scary costumes that could frighten young children.
- No weapons, blood, or masks.
- No hair dye or spray can be brought to school. Please administer at home.
- Unattached parts of costumes can get lost easily at school, so you may want to leave them at home.
If your child decides to dress up (it’s optional), please have them come to school in costume. Children must bring a change of clothes as they will take off their costumes at recess. Kindergarteners will remain in their costumes. The annual parade will begin at approximately 8:25 A.M. and will take place on the blacktop this year. All grade levels will be assigned space on the perimeter of the blacktop and will be provided an opportunity to show-off their Halloween spirit! We invite families to enjoy this event as there will be designated space to watch from the outer perimeter of the parade circle.
Finally, Friday is the last day for students to submit applications for the play- Rockin’ Robin Hood! We are so lucky to have these opportunities to watch our students shine!
Best,
Principal, Daves Avenue Elementary

Sneak Peek Thursday 11/1
Open 8am - 6pm, 11/2 & 11/5 - 11/9

The Daves Avenue Book Fair happens during Conference Week, twice a year.
Buying books at the Fair supports our Library, as 25% of the proceeds come back to us!
Think about those favorites your child and family like to re-read, as these make
great holiday gifts!
And if your child’s favorite is not at the Fair, we can order it (it usually comes in a week or less!)*.
- Shop during school and surprise your child with a new book! (Right after school is usually the busiest time.)
- If your child is enjoying a book their teacher is reading aloud in class, note that these books are targeted at the class’ listening level, so be ready to have this book be a family read-aloud.
- Cash, Check and Credit Card are accepted!
* To order books, make a wish list with your child and either email our librarian,
Amy Goldsmith
, or drop by the library and Mrs. G will process your order.
