THE BAMA BULLETIN

A Message from the Executive Director

Dear BAMA Members,

October is here, and it brings with it the excitement of Manufacturing Month. At the Bay Manufacturers Association (BAMA), we've been hard at work celebrating this important occasion by connecting our community with the vibrant world of manufacturing. This year, we've taken significant steps to promote awareness and education about the manufacturing industry, and we're excited to share our progress with you.

Educating Our Future Workforce: Student Tours and Virtual Engagement

One of our primary initiatives for Manufacturing Month is coordinating student tours of local manufacturing companies. These tours offer students a valuable opportunity to witness firsthand how a manufacturing company operates and to explore the diverse career opportunities within the industry. By providing students with these insights, we hope to inspire the next generation of manufacturing leaders.

But that's not all! We recently hosted a virtual event titled "Inside Manufacturing with BAMA." This event drew the participation of over 630 students eager to learn more about the manufacturing sector.  The students watched virtual tours of local manufacturing companies prior to the event.  During the event, students had the chance to engage with local manufacturers, ask questions about their companies, and gain a deeper understanding of the manufacturing processes that drive our local economy. It was truly a fantastic opportunity to bridge the gap between the classroom and the factory floor.

Newsletter Update: Double the Insights

In our ongoing efforts to keep our members informed and engaged, we have decided to enhance our newsletter experience. We understand that our newsletters have been growing due to the wealth of information we want to share with you. To streamline the content and make it more accessible, we are excited to announce that we will be delivering two newsletters each month.

The first newsletter will focus on upcoming events and exciting opportunities for you to get involved with BAMA. This will help you stay up to date with the latest happenings and plan your involvement accordingly.

The second newsletter will feature manufacturing news and association updates. This will serve as a valuable resource for staying informed about industry trends, legislative developments, and all things related to BAMA.

We believe that this approach will provide you with a more tailored and digestible newsletter experience, ensuring that you receive the information that matters most to you.

As Manufacturing Month continues, we invite you to join us in celebrating the innovation, dedication, and hard work of our local manufacturing community. Together, we can inspire future generations and continue to strengthen the manufacturing industry in the Tampa Bay area.

Best regards,

Beth Galic

BAMA Member of the Month!

1. How long have you been a BAMA member? Since March of 2023.

2. What do you like most about being a BAMA member? It’s great to be a part of a community, to meet people with similar passions, and to help one another grow by exchanging ideas and sharing knowledge.

3. Tell us about your company? Our founding was a collaborative effort between my parents and grandparents. When my mom opened up her store, Villa Rosa Distinctive Linens, in 1984, there was no detergent on the market that could both clean and ensure a long lifespan for the fine linens she was selling. My grandfather was a chemist and, at her request, formulated a remedy. The following year, Linen Wash was launched in her store, and Le Blanc was born.

Now, 38 years later, we manufacture and sell 10 laundry care product lines nationwide, still adhering to our value proposition of long-term care for your linens, towels, and clothes. And despite a year-to-year growth of 10% and $2 million in revenue, we’re still making our products in small batches in my grandfather’s mixing tanks from the ‘60s.

BAMA BENEFITS

REFER A MEMBER

Do you know a leader in manufacturing who could benefit by being part of our association? Membership in a manufacturing association offers so many benefits and will keep members knowledgeable about important, ever-changing issues, trends, and legislation within the industry. The most popular benefit our members rave about is our networking events and tours at local manufacturing facilities. The best part is, over 70% of the attendance at these events is made up of other manufacturers who share best practices and strategies that are working for them.
