Entrepreneurship Foundations
Celebrating Entrepreneurial Success and Youth Empowerment: Building Community Wealth and Building Bright Futures Graduation Ceremony
On May 29th, a new group of entrepreneurs proudly graduated from the Building Community Wealth Entrepreneurship Foundations program. Participants shared their unique experiences and unveiled their innovative business plans. As with previous cohorts, the graduates brought diverse perspectives to the table and engaged in enriching discussions, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
This graduation ceremony was held in conjunction with the Building Bright Futures program, which caters to teens and young adults. The program's multifaceted approach aims to equip young individuals with essential life skills through workshops, community connections, and excursions.
The joint graduation was a celebration of achievement, growth, and the potential for a prosperous future for all participants. The connections forged during the programs extended beyond the classroom, creating a network of support and collaboration further fueling the cycle of growth and prosperity in Montbello.

Montbello Moves Launch and Seedling Giveaway at Community Open House | |
The Open House at the Montbello Community Building on May 23rd provided great community connections. Attendees interacted with many organizations that make our community vibrant and learned about resources ranging from education to mental health support, youth empowerment, arts, and more. Among the organizations present were Struggle of Love, Faithbridge, Colorado Black Arts Movement, Academy 360, Families Forward Resource Center, Children’s Farms in Action, WellPower, Montbello Organizing Committee, Michelle Simmons Counseling Group, and Families Against Violence Acts.
In addition, many residents kickstarted their gardening journey by taking home free seedling boxes, which included vegetable, herb, and flower plants as well as with valuable gardening resources.
Participants also celebrated the launch of Montbello Moves. Several residents took brand-new e-bikes for a test ride in the parking lot and learned about the reservation process for the free Electric Bike Library. Others went for a spin in the new Electric Van, which is available for partner organizations to reserve for activities and excursions.

| Montbello Moves is encouraging residents to hop on their bikes by implementing the Pedal and Win program in conjunction with CASR. This program allows riders to earn $1 for every mile ridden on any bike, including those available from MOC’s free Electric Bike | |
Montbello Moves is encouraging residents to hop on their bikes by implementing the Pedal and Win program in conjunction with CASR. This program allows riders to earn $1 for every mile ridden on any bike, including those available from MOC’s free Electric Bike Library, with the opportunity to earn up to a maximum of $500. Residents from Montbello and Far Northeast Denver who are aged 18 and older can join the program, as can younger riders with parental consent.
The Pedal and Win program begins June 17th and will continue through June 30th. After signing up for the program, participants track their mileage using a smartphone with GPS. Transit Support with RTD Tag Books |
The Montbello Organizing Committee
is excited to announce vital transportation assistance available through The Assistance Grant (TAG) program. Immediate need clients accessing essential services can receive ticket books valid for all RTD fixed-route services (excluding airport trips).
These grants, which are part of RTD's commitment to community service, help ensure residents have access to crucial services, employment, education, and crisis intervention.

World Juice Bar, located inside Montbello Save A Lot, is seeking part-time Sales Associates. They are looking for individuals with exceptional customer service skills, a positive demeanor, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. Previous experience in food service or hospitality is preferred, but not required. Sales Associates prepare and serve a variety of beverages and limited food items to customers in the retail store, food truck, and as part of the catering business. Other tasks include cleaning, restocking, assisting with opening and closing, and representing the company at in-store events or on social media. Hourly wages plus tips. All candidates must pass a pre-employment background check.

Introducing Janice Wright: Property Manager for FreshLo Residences

Role and Responsibilities: As the Property Manager of FreshLo Residences, Janice guides prospective residents through the application process, ensuring a seamless transition into their new homes. Once settled, she provides onsite support to enhance their living experience.
Languages Spoken: While Janice primarily communicates in English, she ensures accessibility for Spanish-speaking individuals by working alongside a dedicated translator throughout the application process.
Experience: With seven years as Assistant Manager at Ross Envolve, Janice Wright utilizes her expertise in multilevel housing to empower residents and teach them about their housing planning needs.
Childhood Memories: Janice's ties to the Montbello neighborhood are rooted in cherished childhood memories, particularly her visits to her grandmother's home on Dearborn St.
Favorite Things: Outside of work, Janice is a Colorado native who finds solace in the company of her beloved four-legged companions. Her passion for nurturing extends beyond her profession, as she's also a devoted mother of four and an enthusiastic foster care parent.
