Bond Project Updates:
Main Street & City Park
We’ve all been there – passing that construction project that seems to be idle. Why does the construction schedule keep changing? This is a valid question and concern. First of all, we want to thank you for your continued patience as we finish up our bond-related projects. In the link below you will find the latest update on Main Street and City Park.
Buda Counts: Pledge to be Counted Shindig
Join the City of Buda, the Buda Area Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Buda Complete Count Committee for the “Buda Counts: Pledge to be Counted Shindig” Census Event in Downtown Buda on Saturday, March 28.

Buda Counts: Pledge to be Counted Shindig
Downtown Buda Greenbelt
(Near the Gazebo and the Former Buda Public Library)
Saturday, March 28
10 AM - 1 PM

The family friendly event is free and open to the public. Come on out to show your Buda pride and learn the importance of being counted in the 2020 Census. We will have free hot dogs, snow cones, and giveaways. There will also be door prizes, face painting, school choirs, mariachi bands and more!

In late 2019, the Buda City Council established a Complete Count Committee for the City of Buda. The committee’s purpose is to increase awareness and motivate residents to respond to the 2020 Census. Accurate counts impact federal funding levels and representation in the state and federal level.

The 2020 Census will provide a snapshot of our nation, our population, where we live, and so much more. The results are critically important because this once-a-decade census data helps businesses, researchers, and communities make decisions. The data can help inform where your community needs a new fire department, more funding for school lunches, or new roads.

Buda Trash-Off
The City of Buda will be participating in the “Don’t Mess with Texas Trash-Off” this year! Gather your family, team, or come as an individual and get ready to help clean up Buda on Saturday, April 4, 2020! The local event is sponsored by the City of Buda, the Parks Commission, and the Sustainability Commission. The “Don’t Mess with Texas Trash-Off” is part of the Keep Texas Beautiful Trash-Off and the Keep America Beautiful Great American Cleanup.

Hays County Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
March 5, 2020
Hays County Epidemiologist Eric Schneider wants to make sure that Hays County residents understand the current exposure potential for Coronavirus and precautions they can take to help stay healthy. As of March 5, there are no confirmed cases in Hays County.

Schneider noted that good health practices for Coronavirus are similar to that of Influenza (the two are different viruses), and some symptoms are similar. Symptoms of Coronavirus include fever, cough, and shortness of breath that typically show up within 2 to 14 days of contracting it. Flu symptoms often also include headache, chills, body ache, sore throat, fatigue, stuffy nose and/or sneezing that is not typically associated with Coronavirus.

Downtown Main Street Now Open
Main Street in Downtown Buda is now open! A big thank you to TxDOT's contractor Lonestar Sitework for working so hard to get the road paved and striped.
Sequoyah Street Closure at Main Street Intersection
Monday, March 2 - Monday, March 9
As part of the ongoing Main Street Improvement Project, a small portion of Sequoyah Street at the intersection of Main will be closed in both directions from Monday, March 2 to Monday, March 9. This is due to construction on the southern side of the intersection and roadway. Drivers will NOT be able to turn on to Main Street from Sequoyah or on to Sequoyah from Main Street. Main Street will remain open in both directions.
City of Buda Accepting Applications
