Downtown Buda Festival of Trees
The City of Buda Main Street Program, in partnership with the Downtown Buda Merchants Group, has launched a new fundraiser to help keep downtown businesses open this holiday season and spark joy in the local community. The Buda Festival of Trees is a month-long trail of decorated trees in the heart of Historic Downtown Buda. Each tree is donated and decorated by a family or group to surround the big tree in Greenbelt Park.

For more information on how to participate or to make a donation to support downtown businesses, please visit www.budafestivaloftrees.com.

Buda Area Food-Raiser
By Buda Area Chamber of Commerce
The Buda Area Chamber of Commerce along with the Central Texas Veterans Center and other Buda organizations are having a Food Raiser to help fill the gap. This Food -Drive is a little different than drives you may have seen in the past.

Using technology and creativity the Buda Area Chamber of Commerce is launching a live 12-Hour Zoom-A-Thon Food-Raiser. Much like the old Jerry Lewis Telethons, we will be streaming live, have entertainment, special guests, and call in lines.

People can watch this Buda Zoom-A-Thon Food-Raiser on Facebook, YouTube, and the Chamber Website. Additional channels and outlets will be added as we get closer to the event.

Donations can be dropped off at the Central Texas Veterans Center at 100 Houston Street on December 5 between the hours of 12:00 pm and 12:00 am. For more information call the Buda Area Chamber of Commerce at (512) 295-9999 or email info@budachamber.com.

Downtown Buda Tree Lighting Ceremony
Downtown Buda is looking festive for the Holidays. You can watch our Downtown Tree Lighting video below.
In your preparation for the holiday season, Buda is here to help you recycle any of your old, broken, or unused holiday lights! From November 30th to January 10th, stop by the Buda Public Library to drop off your holiday lights. Please remove all clips, cardboard or any other material so that you are only turning in the string of lights. No compact fluorescent or other light bulbs can be accepted through this program.

You may drop the lights at a bin located near the outdoor book drop on the side of City Hall. The lights will be recycled through a vendor for proper disposal.
The Buda Main Street Program has launched a temporary Curbside Pilot Program to help businesses in Historic Downtown Buda connect with their customers more conveniently.

Under the pilot program, signs will be placed in six key areas to assist customers with their curbside, pickup, or to-go orders from restaurants and retailers. Each sign will have an assigned number so customers can text or phone in their easily identifiable location. There will be 1-2 temporary curbside parking spaces per block with parking limits set to 10 minutes.

City Council Adopts
Transportation Mobility Master Plan
The Buda City Council adopted an updated Transportation Mobility Master Plan (TMMP) at its December 1 meeting. In 2019, the City of Buda started the process of updating the Transportation Master Plan to identify transportation needs, develop solutions, and prioritize improvements to allow the transportation system to keep pace with desired growth and development. The City worked with citizens and stakeholders to identify and prioritize projects, develop policies, and create strategies that ultimately formed the updated Transportation Mobility Master Plan.

Kenny's Construction Chat - Dec. 2, 2020
Phase III of the Main Street Improvement Project started this week. It includes removal and replacement of 8 inches of the most needed sections of the roadway. Next step is to test and validate the density and content of the subsurface base material As soon as December 7, 2020, we will see the replacement of the 8 inches of asphalt fill quickly followed by the mill and overlay of the full length of the project! The overall project is anticipated to be finished in January 2021.
