Flash Flood Watch
A Flash Flood Watch is in effect through 7 p.m. Saturday, May 11. According to the National Weather Service, periods of showers and thunderstorms will bring heavy rainfall to much of the region through Saturday evening. Between 2 to 4 inches is expected across much of the Hill Country and I-35 corridor. Please avoid flood prone areas, such as low water crossings and monitor local weather reports. You can also check   atxfloods.com  for road closures and you can sign up for emergency notifications at  warncentraltexas.org.
Traffic Alert
From Hays County
If you travel on FM 150 between Kyle and Driftwood, TxDOT has closed the road in both directions at the Double Crossing for repairs to both the road and bridge. Both were damaged by flooding. Barricades are in place. No word yet on when the road might reopen.
Buda City Council Passes
Odor Nuisance Ordinance

The Buda City Council passed an ordinance declaring offensive odors a nuisance within City limits and 5,000 feet outside City limits. The City already had an odor ordinance, but this allows the City to enforce odor complaints in the ETJ (Extraterritorial Jurisdiction). The ordinance regulates unreasonably noxious or strong odors that drift across property lines. Odors that adversely impact public welfare, property values, the economy, or quality of life are considered a nuisance and in violation of the law.

Paying It Forward
Kelleah Meuth is making a difference when it comes to living a sustainable lifestyle. She recently organized and hosted The Buda Earth Festival at the farmers market. The Buda teen is an advocate for living a sustainable lifestyle and the festival was born from Kelleah's 4-H Club project. Kelleah is the focus of the City's "Paying it Forward is a Budaful Thing" segment.
