Old Goforth Road Construction
Nearing Completion
Construction on Old Goforth Road is nearing completion. The City’s contractor, Smith Construction, will begin laying the first course of asphalt on the west side of the road on Friday, Oct. 18. Asphalt work will continue on Saturday, Oct. 19. Striping/painting is expected to be complete on Monday, Oct. 21. However, the forecast calls for rain on Monday and that may impact the schedule. The road is anticipated to open on Tuesday, again barring any major rain impacts. We want to thank the community for your patience during this project.
Traffic Alert
Livestrong Challenge Ride
On Sunday, Oct. 20, 2019, the Annual Livestrong Challenge Ride will cut through Buda. This will impact several roads, including Old San Antonio Road, Main Street, FM 967, and FM 2770. The ride starts at 7:30 a.m. and ends by 4:00 p.m.

Nov. 5 General Election
Information
Early voting for the Nov. 5 General Election starts on Monday, October 21 and runs through Friday, November 1. During early voting and on Election Day Hays County Citizens can vote at any polling location in Hays County.

New Hays County Voting Machines
Hays County voters will have brand new voting machines for the November 2019 elections, and residents are welcome to try them out in advance by stopping by any precinct office during regular business hours until early voting begins this fall.

Bike Rodeo at Stagecoach Park
Bring your bike to Stagecoach Park on Saturday, Oct. 19 for a fun course on bicycle safety! Free children's helmets will be provided while supplies last. All children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.  Thank you to Tri-County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, Buda Bike Company, and Bike Austin for partnering with the Buda Public Library for this event!

Art in the Heart
The Buda Main Street Program is hosting Art in the Heart on Sunday, Oct. 20 in Historic Downtown Buda! Art in the Heart is an opportunity for people of all ages to celebrate art in the heart of Buda.

Boo-Da Halloween
Are you ready for a scary good time? Boo-Da Halloween is Saturday, October 26. Festivities will include various costume contests, a brand new haunted maze, and monster-ous amounts of candy.

Texas Arbor Day
Fun and Crafts
Join the fun as the City of Buda and the Buda Public Library celebrate Texas Arbor Day by offering the community two engaging events. Come to Green Meadows Park on Friday, Nov. 1, 2019 at 10 a.m. for a tree planting ceremony, then pop by the Buda Public Library from 3-5 p.m. for exciting activities such as tree and nature art, face painting, and more.

Baylor Scott & White Buda
Opening Celebration
Baylor Scott & White Health celebrated the opening of its new medical center located in Buda. The new medical center is the first full-service hospital in Hays County under the Baylor Scott & White name. While the medical center opened its doors in late September, an official ribbon cutting ceremony with the Buda Area Chamber of Commerce was held on Tuesday, Oct. 15 to celebrate the opening.
