WE BAKED BACK BETTER AND MADE DEMOCRACY ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!

The Valentine’s Day Bake Back Better campaign raised $8,370, which met the challenge grant for an extra $2,000 – that’s a total of $10,370 to help register Democrats and save the world!

The money we raised is funding additional digital voter registration programs into Wisconsin, on the cusp of a critical state Supreme Court election. Using our 2020 metrics, that'll translate to 5,600 new Democrats registered, and all thanks to you, your generosity, and your love of freedom and cupcakes.

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 17 & ON: WISCONSIN SUPREME BLITZ

Everett Mitchell and Janet Protasiewicz. Two names we need to start pronouncing correctly and loudly! (Say pro-tuh-SAY-witz.) Why? Because one of them could tip the balance on the Wisconsin Supreme Court and restore sanity (and democracy!) to the Badger State.

A bit of backstory: in 2011, the Wisconsin GOP gerrymandered control of the state legislature with the most corrupt maps ever seen and the Republican-majority state Supreme Court let them. That led to results like this, from 2018: Republicans won 46 percent of the statewide vote but 64 percent of the seats in the state Assembly. That is some gerrymandering! But now one of those Trumpy justices is retiring. She tried to ban absentee ballot drop boxes in 2021, so good riddance!

That one seat — if we can elect Judge Everett or Judge Janet — will flip the majority to progressive. Then we can fix those maps. And ditch the crazy 1849 abortion ban (that took effect thanks to the U.S. Supreme Court gutting Roe). And beat back the ongoing attacks on voting rights. Yep. This election's stakes are incredibly high.

That's why, in the run-up to this key April 4th election, we're partnering with our friends at The Union on a massive voter registration and GOTV effort. We need all hands on deck, so please help out with as many of these events as you can:

SAVE DEMOCRACY WITH FRIENDS!

Are you vaxxed, maxxed (on your love of democracy) and ready to roll? Then Field Team 6 and Civic Sundays have just the thing for you: fun, in-person events to save our nation!

Civic Sundays LA is now meeting in person on Sunday mornings at private locations in the Silverlake/Los Feliz/Eagle Rock area of Los Angeles. There are always multiple ways you can get involved in supporting progressive candidates up and down the ballot, locally and nationwide. Phonebanking, textbanking, postcarding and digital letter writing will be among the offerings—and you get to do it in person with your new friends!

They're already voting in what could be the most consequential election of the year. Control of the Wisconsin Supreme Court hangs in the balance. If we can swing the bench from conservative to liberal by winning just one seat, we'll be in a position to do something about the most extreme gerrymandering in all 50 states.
