Roslyn High School held the commencement ceremony for the senior class on Friday, June 23, 2023, at the Tilles Center. Two-hundred and seventy-three students dressed in Roslyn blue entered the room to Pomp and Circumstance and cheering family members. Congratulations to all our graduates!

Roslyn Middle School hosted their 8th grade graduation ceremony on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Hofstra University's David S. Mack Sports Complex. Two-hundred and seventy-six students entered the arena to “Pomp and Circumstance.”

5TH GRADE MOVING UP CEREMONIES |

East Hills Elementary School and Harbor Hill Elementary School hosted their fifth grade moving up ceremonies on Wednesday, June 21, 2023. Both ceremonies, packed with parents and family members, were held in the Roslyn High School auditorium. With beaming smiles, the fifth-graders entered the auditorium to Pomp and Circumstance. Roslyn Board of Education President Meryl Waxman Ben-Levy gave remarks at both ceremonies, which were attended by Superintendent Allison Brown and Assistant Superintendents Karina Baez and Michael Goldspiel. Roslyn Middle School Principal Craig Johanson was also on hand to congratulate the fifth graders and tell them how much he was looking forward to seeing them in the fall.

Dressed in their blue caps and gowns, Roslyn High School seniors returned to their elementary schools for the District's much anticipated Senior Walk on Tuesday, June 20, 2023. The nostalgic procession took place at Heights, East Hills, and Harbor Hill Elementary Schools. As they walked the halls, they were cheered by students, teachers, and administrators. Heights hosted their kindergarten mini-marathon on Tuesday, June 6, 2023. Students, alongside many parents, had fun racing each other to the finish line. |

Elementary students in the Mock Trial Tier 3 program participated in a year-long program to learn about the judicial system and what it takes to be a lawyer. They learned how to correctly question witnesses from both the defense and the prosecution. On June 7, 2023, they went before a judge in a Mineola courtroom to present the case of Goldilocks vs the Three Bears. The students at East Hills defended Goldilocks, while the students at Harbor Hill set out to prove to the court that Goldilocks was guilty.

In honor of being the 2023 #1 fundraising school in the United States for Red Nose Day, Comic Relief US bestowed an appreciation award to East Hills Elementary School!
|
|
In support of the Red Nose Day Fundraiser held this past May at East Hills Elementary School, raffles were sold for a chance to be the principal and the assistant principal for the day. On Monday, June 5, 2023, student Jacob Klein got the opportunity to serve alongside Principal Sherry Ma, and Gavin Kroog had the honor of serving as assistant principal alongside Jennifer Sheehan.

On Tuesday, June 6, 2023, fourteen Roslyn High School seniors who have shown tireless dedication and commitment to the vocal music program and the Royal Crown Players were celebrated by their classmates and advisors during a school day ceremony.

SEPTA END-OF-YEAR CEREMONY |

The Special Education Parent Teacher Association (SEPTA) hosted its 2023 Awards Celebration at Harbor Hill Elementary School on Friday, June 16, 2023. The SEPTA breakfast ceremony is held each year to celebrate inspirational individuals who have made unique and meaningful contributions on behalf of Roslyn’s special education students and families.

A group of seventeen retiring faculty and staff were honored at the June 22, 2023 Roslyn Board of Education meeting for their years of service to the Roslyn School District. The retirees were given commemorative plaques and congratulatory speeches by fellow staff and educators. Roslyn Board of Education President Meryl Waxman Ben-Levy paid tribute to retiring BOE Trustee Bruce Valauri and thanked him for his many years of dedicated service to the district.

Roslyn tennis hosted a Rally for Roslyn in honor of Drew Hassenbein and Ethan Falkowitz and in support of Ethan Solop and Zach Sheena. More than 400 people attended to laugh, cry, and play some tennis. Roslyn varsity tennis players and their parents, along with friends and family from other states and Roslyn tennis alumni came together to support each other.

The 4th annual Tennis with the Teachers was held at Roslyn High School on Tuesday, June 13, 2023. “This year we opted to do a less formal tournament, which meant more tennis for everybody,” said coach Kerri Jannotte. “We had a big turnout from teachers, students, parents, and alumni. It's always a great day when the kids can spend time with their teachers out of the classroom playing the sport they love.”
