Harbor Hill Elementary School hosted National Read Across America Day on Wednesday, March 2, 2022. More than two dozen administrators from across the district participated as guest readers. They visited classrooms to read aloud the book, "Maybe" by Kobi Mayada—a story about the unbound potential in all of us.

Young students at Heights School ‘traveled’ to four different regions around the world during a multi-day Cultured Kids Program. Students received passports and learned about the customs and traditions of the selected regions, which included Puerto Rico, India, Japan, and Greece.

Students at East Hills Elementary School celebrated Women's History Month this March. Fourth graders researched famous trailblazers, writers, astronauts, scientists, lawyers, athletes, etc. and presented "Outstanding Woman Awards." Second-graders created pennants to honor the many contributions women have made to our society.

Harbor Hill Elementary School hosted a live choral concert for parents. Under the direction of music teacher Dorothy Burns, second graders sang four songs in their "Magic in Music" concert.

Roslyn Middle School’s students returned to the stage to put on four performances of the musical, The Addams Family. “It is with tremendous anticipation and enthusiasm that Roslyn Middle School Spotlight players present, The Addams Family, said Director Christina Cinnamo. “After an extended bout of time apart, we could not be more grateful for this opportunity to share physical space and return to the art of theater as we know it.”

Jack Blank, a Roslyn Middle School eighth grader enrolled in the class Biz LIFE 8, won first place in The Stock Market Game. He earned his win by competing against 4,275 teams in New York State.

Seventh grade students at Roslyn Middle School designed and constructed elaborate paper roller coasters—part of a lesson about energy transformation.

During World Language Week, Roslyn Middle School students raised an astonishing $4,000 for the Pulsera Project—a nonprofit organization that supports communities in Nicaragua and Guatemala through the sale of hand-woven bracelets made by local artisans in Central America.

Hailee Youn, a finalist in the Regeneron Science Talent Search 2022, the nation’s oldest and most prestigious science and math competition for high school seniors, was selected by her peers to receive the Seaborg Award at the Regeneron Awards Gala in Washington D.C. on March 15, 2022.

Roslyn High School senior Andrew Defrin is one of 20 students to be named a 2021-2022 Long Island Scholar Artist. Each year, the Long Island Scholar Artist program recognizes students who excel academically and in the areas of either music, visual arts, dance, theater, or media arts. Andrew was selected in the area of Theatre.

On Tuesday. March 29, 2022. Roslyn Board of Education President Meryl Waxman Ben-Levy presented senior Hailee Youn with a Certificate of Recognition to congratulate her for placing as a Finalist in the Regeneron Science Talent Search 2022 and for receiving the prestigious Seaborg Award.

Undefeated in the preliminary rounds of the New York State Bar Association’s High School Mock Trial Tournament, the Roslyn High School Mock Trial team won sudden death play-off trials against Jericho High School and Great Neck South High School to advance to the Nassau County quarterfinals.

Three Roslyn High School students were honored with Quill Awards at Adelphi University's Annual Press Day event—held virtually on February 18, 2022. The recognition was bestowed for articles they wrote for The Hilltop Beacon—Roslyn High School’s student newspaper.

Roslyn High School students scored big during the second round of the Long Island Science and Engineering Fair (LISEF)—held on March 8, 2022 at Crest Hollow Country Club. About 25% of the projects presented in Round 1 qualified for Round 2, with 85% of Roslyn High School entrants invited back.

Several Roslyn students were selected to participate in the Long Island String Festival Association's (LISFA) Virtual Music classes this past February. Elana Margulis and Aaron Lee from Harbor Hill; Thomas Lee, Joshua Oh and Ryan Chen from East Hills; and Emma Wei from Roslyn Middle School participated in various workshops that included pop, jazz and fiddle music. These talented students worked with professional musicians and had a lot of fun learning how to play different genres of music.

MARCHING BULLDOGS PERFORM AT DISNEY WORLD |

Roslyn High School’s Marching Bulldogs experienced the excitement and magic of performing in Disney World’s Imagination Campus Parade at Magic Kingdom in Orlando, Florida from February 20-25, 2022. Under the direction of music teacher Frank Mauriello, students marched down one of Disney World’s iconic parade routes to perform for an audience of thousands around Cinderella’s Castle.
