Red Ribbon Week was held districtwide October 25-29. This year, the theme for the elementary schools was "Happy and Healthy Looks Like Me!" The middle and high school theme was "Drug Free Looks Like Me." Students were encouraged to wear red and various other themed clothing during the week-long event, bring healthy snacks to school, and sign banners pledging to be drug free. Red Ribbon Week was founded by a nonprofit to encourage youth to lead drug-free, healthy lives.

Heights, East Hills, and Harbor Hill—in coordination with the PFA— hosted a day of pumpkin picking for all our elementary students. Everyone had lot's of fun choosing a sugar pumpkin to take home for Halloween.

October 4th - October 8th was Fire Prevention week at Heights. Elementary students had fun meeting the members of the Roslyn Fire Department and even got to handle a fire hose!

Students in World Language teacher Tami Cutler's 7th grade class participated in National Hispanic Heritage Month by creating Ojo De Dios (Eye of God) crafts—made by weaving a colorful design out of yarn.

Kudos to RHS students Sasha Farber, Ben Kim, Jason Liepper, and Michael Granoff! They created an app called WellPets in INCubatoredu, In May of 2021 they won Roslyn's Pitch Night, which led to an interview that was published in the eSchoolNews.

Roslyn School District participated in Unity Day on Wednesday, October 20, 2021. Students, faculty, and staff were encouraged to wear orange to prevent bullying and promote kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.

PINK OUT DAY
Roslyn Middle School Principal Craig Johanson, students, staff, and faculty participated in Pink Out Day in support of breast cancer awareness month.

THESPIAN HONOR SOCIETY
On Thursday, October 14, 2021, four Roslyn High School students were inducted into the International Thespian Honor Society. The newly inducted students are Liam McHugh, Jaiden Berger, Lila Freifeld, and Rebecca Fein.

The Roslyn High School OCC hosted a Meet & Greet during first period on Friday, October 15, 2021, to get to know 50 new high school students who moved into the district. Everyone formed a circle and threw a ball back and forth in an exercise to introduce one another. Afterwards, the new students were treated to breakfast and given some cool Roslyn swag.
