That's why, together with a consortium of national grassroots voter registration organizations, we've turned National Voter Registration Day into a monthly event! And February 8 is your next chance to build on the wild success of our first Day of Action (Jan 6) by helping register Democrats. (We'll be holding these on the 2nd Tuesday of every month until the November election.)
Pssst: we are secretly in competition with our sister orgs, and we want to put up more registration events than any of 'em. It's not too late to add one of your own!

HUGE STEP FORWARD
Field Team 6 is thrilled to announce we have now joined the Wisconsin chapter of national powerhouse America Votes. This means we're now working with America Votes in four states – AZ, FL, PA and WI.
America Votes, in their own words, "coordinates more than 400 state and national partner organizations to create a fairer, more representative democracy by increasing voter participation across the country."
Working with AV in Wisconsin means that, as with our efforts in other states, all the data we generate through our joint voter outreach efforts (phonebanks, textbanks, etc.) will be helpful to allied partner orgs as well as Field Team 6. Working with AV chapters also gives us access to the state voter rolls, which is a huge aid to our voter outreach. And we look forward to offering our voter registration trainings and resources to every member of AV Wisconsin who can use them.

Now that the dust has settled, the new congressional maps tell us one thing clearly: the battle to save our House majority in 2022 could be won or lost in California.
Here is the full list of our target congressional districts in California:

CA-09 DEFEND this Democratic seat by electing Josh Harder (D) - D+5

Get ready to BYOP – Bring Your Own Phone (*plan)! We're bootcamping this very afternoon… Thursday, January 27 at 4p PT. We’ll train you how to text from your computer, using your data plan. Once trained, you can do this on your own time, whenever you like!
This week is a very special session: just four days before the voter registration deadline for the March primary in crucial battleground Texas, we'll be sending voter registration texts to the Latino community!
This is one of the main voting blocs being aggressively disenfranchised by the current GOP-led state government/clown circus and we must do everything we can to get them registered... while we still can. More progressive Latino voters can elect Democrats up and down the ballot and turn Texas blue once and for all!
We've upgraded the tech with some sassy Chrome extensions that turn this into a two-click operation! If you have an ActionID, Chrome browser, and software to text from your computer, you're ready. RSVP!

And guess what... we had our best week ever! We sent out over 10,000 tweets and generated over 52 million impressions. 52. Million. You rock!
It's a good time to join the party as every Wednesday we jump onto the web to raise awareness for Field Team 6's efforts to #RegisterDemocrats and save the world. We’ll also be supporting our ongoing in-person voter drive trainings, phone banks, text banks and postcarding programs.

VOLUNTEER SHOUT-OUT: JOSEPH HAMPTON |
|
This week, the Field Team 6 traveling train of gratitude is picking up a new passenger, Joseph Hampton, a dedicated volunteer who focuses on textbanking.
He lives in San Francisco and tries to make a difference through both his volunteer work and his day job as an accountant at the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank. In his free time, he recharges by discovering new hiking trails around the Bay Area.
Joseph got his start as an activist during the push to repeal the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy, so that gay people could serve openly in the military. “Prior to the repeal, my now-husband, who served 20 years in the Navy, had to hide who he was to avoid being fired from his job. I saw the pain and anxiety up-close.”
So in 2008 and 2012, he canvassed door-to-door for Obama/Biden in Virginia. Though he enjoyed the face-to-face contact with voters, textbanking works for him now. “I’ve now hit my stride with texting our fellow citizens. Slow and steady wins the race.”
Joseph has been textbanking with Field Team 6 for the past two years, including, recently with our BYOP textbanking program. “Even if I can send only ten texts per day, I try to text a little bit every single day.”
He was trained as a classical musician and says, “if my training taught me anything, it’s that making some sort of effort every day makes a big impact on whatever you are trying to improve. Imagine how many people we could register to vote if we each reached out to five people every day for a year!
We did the math. If each of our 12,000 volunteers did that, we would reach almost 22 million people. Let's do it!!
Joseph’s dream for our country is that everyone has an equal voice in our democracy. We share that beautiful dream – and thank you for all your hard work and commitment, day in and out, to making that dream come true.

Georgia… is on our mind! Georgia did all of us—and democracy itself—a huge solid in January of 2021 by electing Senators Jon Ossoff and the Reverend Raphael Warnock. We want to help turn the rest of Georgia blue and pave the way for our hero Stacey Abrams to take her rightful place in the Peach State Governor’s Mansion.
