August 3, 2016  Twenty-Fifth Edition

Brothers, Sisters, Families and Friends,

Unfortunately, after many meetings with the Administration regarding our pay inequities, we have come to a point within our Union to take a strong position; we will no longer stay silent regarding our pay.

After speaking to the CAL FIRE Local 2881 Executive Board, we have made a decision to have a rally and press availability event on the steps of the Capitol on August 22nd.  Please listen to the attached President's message link describing our current situation.  Our plan is to coordinate with the districts and chapters for their availability to attend this rally with their family and friends.

As the date gets closer, we will send the agenda including the reporting location.  Our plan is to have the event in the mid-morning.

Fraternally,

Mike Lopez

A California sheriff says several injured passengers lost limbs when a speeding bus veered off a highway and struck a pole, killing five people.
