BACK TO SCHOOL FAIR

Each year, Children’s Advocacy Center partners with local corporations and community members like you to host our annual Back to School Fair.

The Back to School Fair equips children who are current clients of Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County or Texas Department of Family Protective Services for the new school year by providing them with brand new backpacks, shoes, haircuts, and school supplies. The Fair is also a time of games, music, face-painting, and refreshments in a family-friendly atmosphere.

For only $30, you can provide a child with the school supplies they need to start their school year right.

THE FIRST STEP TOWARD HEALING

Forensic interviews are legally justifiable, fact-finding interviews with a child conducted by specially trained CACCC professionals at the request of law enforcement or the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS).

The goal of a forensic interview is to collect vital information from a child in a neutral, non-leading way to be utilized during a child abuse investigation.

Forensic interviews are often the first step toward healing and give children the opportunity to tell their story without fear of disbelief or prejudice. Children are often nervous, afraid, and unsure of what to expect when they come to the Center. More often than not they express a feeling relief and gratitude for being able to talk about their experience of abuse.

One child stated, "You were the first person to actually listen to me and not treat me like a child."
