As people head outside to celebrate the long weekend, Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) encourages the outdoor community to keep safety top of mind to ensure the holiday is filled with fun — not accidents. 

Know Before You Go 

Plan your visit with the Quick Guide to State Parks or the Colorado State Parks Brochure (Guía De Los Parques Naturales).

Use the online State Park Finder Tool to find a state park and an interactive map.

Camping reservations at Colorado state parks are required. Explore a variety of camping types, including tent sites, cabins, yurts and ADA-accessible options. 

Stay hydrated. Bring more water than you think you (and your pet) will need. 

Be Careful with Fire

A single spark from a campfire, vehicle or grill can ignite a fast-moving wildfire that could have devastating impacts on local landscapes and communities. 

Boating and Water Safety
