Dear Friends:

Ten years ago, on May 1, Carlos A. Migoya became chief executive officer of Jackson Health System and set the stage for a new era in Jackson’s history. Carlos embraced the challenge of reviving a financially-strained health system on the brink of closure. He put Jackson on sound financial footing and transformed it into one of the largest, most respected public healthcare networks in the nation. We salute him for his commitment and dedication to Jackson Health System and to our community.

This month, we also celebrate Nurses Week, May 6 to 12, and Hospital Week, May 9 to 15, which recognize the commitment of our frontline caregivers and the health system as a whole. We hope you will pay tribute to Carlos and all of our healthcare heroes by making a contribution to our Foundation in their honor.

May is also a special month for mothers. We’re delighted to share that expectant moms can look forward to giving birth in Jackson’s newly unveiled labor and delivery unit, which was designed with their safety and comfort in mind.

Later this month, we will celebrate your commitment to Jackson Health System when we name the winners of our upcoming chance drawing, which takes place on May 20. You still have an opportunity to purchase tickets to win one of four spectacular prizes, including a 24-month pre-paid lease of a 2021 Audi Q5 2.0T Quattro, compliments of THE COLLECTION | Audi.

We also wish to acknowledge two community partners who recently made in-kind gifts in support of Jackson Health System. Neiman Marcus Coral Gables and Perry Ellis International are leaders in their respective fields because they understand the importance of giving back to the community. We are grateful they chose to extend their generosity to Jackson.

There is so much to celebrate this month, and we are delighted to share it with you. Please accept our thanks for your continued support. Jackson Health System is stronger because of you.

Sincerely,
Charmaine Gatlin
