Back to Work at Humenik Dentistry

Three years ago, Christine began her job at Humenik Dentistry. She worked at the office where she did clerical work for the Northbrook dental practice.

Then in early 2020 the pandemic hit and everything changed. Christine had to stop working at the dentist’s office. During that time, the Humenik office went paperless, eliminating the need for clerical support. So when it came time for Christine to come back to work this summer, the staff started brainstorming.

“We were excited to have Christine come back to work with us. Since we went paperless and didn’t have as much clerical work, we brainstormed tasks that would fit Christine’s skill set and be an asset to our staff,” said Mary Beth Humenik.

Christine works in the office every Tuesday and helps with sorting patient files, filling out pocket folders, and restocking the hygiene rooms and break room.

Our clinical staff benefits from Christine conscientiously restocking our dental operatories. She is also quick to assist the front desk with maintaining office insurance files. Next door at our neighbors, Janzen & Chwa Orthodontics, Christine provides administrative and clinical assistance. She always performs her responsibilities carefully and completely. It's a pleasure to have Christine as a member of our dental teams,“ said Dr. Mark Humenik.

“I like being useful at work. It makes me feel good. I felt a little bit depressed for not being able to go to work during the pandemic. It also made me worried about my health safety,” Christine shared. During the pandemic, she kept herself busy by playing video games, writing descriptions of the shows she likes, and making herself lunch and snacks without the stove. “I was relieved to return to Humenik for work,” she said.
