Welcome Angela:

TotalLink's New Employment Manager

TotalLink is proud to introduce Angela Muganwa as our Employment Manager. Angela brings an extraordinary blend of real-world experience and academic excellence, presenting a dynamic and empathetic approach to employment services.

Having spent over a decade working with nonprofits like Kinship United, JCFS, and the Josselyn Center, Angela has adept experience in community support with a niche in employment services, focusing on empowering people with disabilities to find meaningful employment.

Angela completed her undergraduate studies in Criminology and earned her Master's in International Development Studies from London South Bank University in the U.K. Her academic experiences helped her cultivate a deep understanding of societal complexities that she now applies to her role in employment management.

Angela was born in Kampala, Uganda, and moved to London when she was young. She now resides in Evanston with her husband, Denis. They have three boys and are in the process of adopting another.

"I find this an incredible journey of discovery as I dive into the remarkable potential and unique talents of people with disabilities. I get to witness how much thought it takes to create inclusivity both for the job seeker and the employers. I am excited about the opportunity to strategize for the success of our participants and the community." -Angela Muganwa

TotalLink Artist Appointed to Arts Commission

The Village of Northbrook's Arts Commission recently appointed Sarah, a TotalLink participant, as their newest commission member. "I'm excited to help out my community and help Northbrook be a wonderful and interesting place for everyone," Sarah shared.

Sarah will contribute to the Arts Commission's mission by bringing a fresh perspective, unique insights, and a commitment to fostering creativity and cultural development.

This opportunity for Sarah came to be thanks to grant funding provided by the Village of Northbrook. Their support provides community coaching for TotalLink participants, who reside in Northbrook, to expand their leadership opportunities by joining various commissions or other decision-making bodies. It's inclusion stories like this that make TotalLink proud to call Northbrook home.

Community Rallies Behind Matthew's

Employment Journey

Members of our community recently came together for a Community Action Team (CAT) meeting to support Matthew, a TotalLink participant searching for additional employment opportunities.

The celebratory meeting of Matthew's job search was a platform for the community to use its diverse knowledge about various businesses, roles, and responsibilities to brainstorm ideas that match Matthew's skills and employment goals.

Matthew currently works at Fresh Market and is looking for extra work on Mondays and Thursdays for 3 hours each day. He enjoys active work, engaging with customers and coworkers, and has tech skills like printing and scanning.

Calling all community members…Can you help make a connection or have an idea for Matthew? If so, please contact Molly McGinty at mollymcginty@totallink2.org

Thank you to our Intern Emily Northrip

This Spring, Glenbrook South senior Emily Northrip, volunteered 55 hours of their time as an intern at TotalLink as part of their GBS Senior Project. Their passion, dedication, and willingness to take on any task left a great impression on all of us. Emily immersed themselves in TotalLink's community and culture. While working with us, Emily attended Open Art Studio, worked on publicity graphics, created new program logos, updated our website, and assisted with the newsletter.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Emily for their contributions to TotalLink.

Please join us for our upcoming events!
